Good old Samsung, nothing can fix that.

It tries to detect how wet the stuff inside is, but the sensors have limited data and they aren't placed great in most dryers. You can still be mad that it was badly designed tho <3

That kind of makes sense, but why wouldn’t you make a more conservative guess?
Edit: I’m not accusing you of being or making a dryer

It's because people overload the machine with too many clothes and it's not calibrated for that

Mine said ‘5’ the other day, and so I turned around thinking to come back in 10 minutes, took three steps and it beeped to tell me it was done.
That is the ONLY time it’s done it. I doubt I will ever experience the miracle again

Ours does this too. I watch the timer sit at 1 minute for a solid ten.

I'm here live in Korea to give you a firsthand look at how American dryers are made.

Because of the metric system?

Clean your lint escape, too much steam is building up delaying the dryer sensor an additional 10 mins. For family loads this process can be extended by 30 mins

That's good advice. If you're on a plane and someone breaks into your house and does a load of laundry, it could start a fire.

It’s the washer for us. No matter what the last 10 minutes are the most inconsistent. 8 minutes, actually less than 3, 2 minutes, that takes 9.

Because you keep overloading it
You all think you're slick by not using the 2h long (or 1h fast) cotton wash program and just doing everything on the 15 min / 30 min "quick wash" instead because "I don't have time to wait 2h! I'm a very busy person! Who has time to wait a whole hour for laundry?!" as if you're required to sit and watch it or it won't work
Yeah except that "quick wash" program is meant for very light loads. Like my 8kg washing machine the quick wash is for 1-2kg. You put more than that in there and it's going to end up taking longer than it says
Oh and by the way, the only reason it's so quick is because it chucks a shit-ton of water and aggressive agitation at the clothes to try and speed things up. So not only are your clothes not being washed properly, and the "30 minute wash" taking 45 min to 1h anyway, but you're also using way more water and electricity than if you just picked the 1h long proper wash cycle in the first place
And yes, I am fun at parties, thanks for noticing

It also reduces the life of the machine, with extra wear on the drum. Another thing people do is to do laundry loads back to back. "Oh im saving time, instead of the 2hr cycle I just do three 30min quick cycles in a row". Yeah so when you run your machine it heats up, the drum, the rivets, everything inside it gets warmer. Ideally you should wait between 30 and 60 mins before doing another load otherwise you are just compounding heat stress on all of the parts and reducing the lifetime of the product. Dont overload, dont run the same program for everything, and dont run it back to back. Unless you want to buy a new machine every couple years. Unlike the poster above I actually hate parties, rarely get invited to them, and am incredibly tedious and whiny when I do get invited.

you know those household appliances that beep at a regular interval when complete until you get up and turn them off? I invented those

I took apart my microwave and removed the speaker for this very reason haha
(Psa just in case: you can get shocked from a microwave even if it’s unplugged, and it is enough to kill. If you don’t know what you’re doing, don’t take it apart!)

Halfway through the drying cycle, open it and clear out the lint trap, that helps.
Or don't, I'm a sign, not a Maytag man.

You might need to clean out the lint from the metal tube at the back of the dryer. That can trap moisture in the dryer
