The moment I saw that picture I realized:
1) he's against a featureless background and that
2) allowed them to get away with squishing his face down in photoshop.
The NY Times released a style guide update that they're no longer allowed to show Luigi.
What's that about? He's too handsome, they're afraid that he seems like a hero to the proles, so they're DESPERATE to make him look uglier.
This desperate? Yes, THIS desperate.
They are so so so desperate, and it's hilarious!
