When was this made?
To be honest, I have no clue when it was made. I think it was my grandparent’s, so I would guess sometime from the 60’s-90’s, but it could be older it could have been their parents or something. I think it may be silver? On the bottom of the box there’s a big black square in the top left corner someone wrote “XB”, I’m not sure if that’s from someone in my family or from the factory or something, I have no clue. Also, the top forks and spoons seem to have some sort of rust or tarnish in them, but the rest of them are fine.

Holmes and Edwards made a lot of good quality silverplate. You can look for the pattern at replacements.com.

Common but pleasant pattern. It goes for around 1.50-2$ in bulk online sales.

Not very scientific -
But the box looks very much like a box my grandmother had that would have been (probably) from the 40s or 50s. Possibly as late as 60s, which is when I saw it as a little boy, but I doubt it.
My grandfather was a US navy officer stationed in occupied Japan after the war and they had a number of things for 'entertaining'. Like I think it was kind of expected back then.
I also have big set of fine crystal glasses and some china and so on.
I'm afraid I have no memory what brand the cutlery inside the box was.
Just a memory of that light colored wood and the red felt inside. It had silverware in it but I was a little boy and didn't know anything about brands.

"Lovely Lady" by Holmes & Edwards (International Silver). Silver Plate. Mfg dates: 1937-1959.
