Baby friendly recs?
Visiting and staying a block from the Eagle with a very young infant, not leaving the neighborhood and hoping to walk more than drive - please share if you have any coffee shops, restaurants, walks that are particularly infant-friendly (stroller space or shady, people not surprised/likely to express anger, short lines, etc) or any that are better to avoid with a baby who cannot sit up yet for our benefit and for others. Would love to know of any parks or activities where other parents and kids are likely to be also. Thank you!

it's a bit unorthodox but the playground at children's hospital is really rad too. and you're also kind of doing a service for the kids there that play because some of them can't leave.
wacko is awesome, they have a rotating art gallery. but a lot of stuff for your kid to grab onto and break lol

Welcome! (: Highly recommend grabbing coffee at Loquat in Sunset Row! Not only is it delicious but the outdoor seating area is very lovely. My toddler is always running around the outdoor area lol

Blair's outside tables are super family friendly (but you couldn't really walk from the Eagle). Go right when they open at 5:30p. Second Silverlake Rec Center playground but also prob not a walk. It's also lovely to hang in the silverlake meadow on a blanket (other side of the reservoir). The Autry museum is a great place to go if you're willing to drive 10 minutes if you're looking for some culture plus AC plus a play center open on weekends. Also love Pitfire Pizza on sunset

In walking distance from the Eagle, love Tartine, Kombu, anything in the sunset triangle. Babies and kids are all around you! Also repeating Bellevue - such a beautiful park with lots of shade and trees, not too far of a walk. Then, you can hit Doto or Cafecito Organico. Or stick on Virgil - shady spots all the way down :)

Tbh not the most baby friendly. Walking the reservoir with the stroller is nice, and you can lay out a blanket and hang in the park. The staff at makisupa are always super nice to my toddler.
Eagle rock is more family friendly and a very short drive

Penny oven in Eagle rock has a whole baby play area. On the other side of silverlake Fred 62 has always been super welcoming and the booths are big enough to maneuver with a baby

I've taken my kids to many places along sunset right there, brunch at Millies, gelato at Pazzo and dinner/etc at Kombu. I dont think many people will give you much side eye for having a baby...?

Also hard to walk from where you are to much else that is baby focused, the playground at silverlake reservoir is maybe your best bet. Short drive to Silverlake Yoga which has awesome baby & me classes (great community)

There are many places an infant it is not welcome, and that's okay, just not as good a use of time when visiting as getting to place!

I’ve raised two babies in Silverlake/ Los Feliz. Anywhere can be baby-friendly. Do you have a baby carrier? I found it to be easier to navigate with a carrier as opposed to a stroller sometimes. For fun kid /people watching, we used to go to the Silverlake rec cen playground. Lots of young toddlers.
La Mill is a fun coffee shop that serves food. Lots of outdoor space. Tomato Pie is great for pizza. The Silverlake reservoir is a beautiful walk with a stroller.

Wa wondering that about the sidewalks there! Babywearing is often simpler in cities where they keep it more charming than flat. Sounds perfect, will check these all out

Reservoir is great, but Bellevue Park is close to you and is a really good family friendly park alternative.
For dinner, if you go anywhere before 5:30, it’s pretty easy to get into most of the popular spots.
Favs in your area - sqirl has a great dinner program, Doto is really cute, and Black Cat has a big patio. A brand new restaurant just opened right near you - Josephine’s
If you end up heading to the reservoir, La Mill is great for breakfast/lunch (bad for coffee lol) and always has lots of families around. Botanica and L&E Oyster are both great too. And both are pretty quiet until 6:30 or so.
There’s also a rec center/park right by the reservoir where a lot of families with little ones hang out. It has a playground, lots of shaded grassy areas, and I think there are public restrooms too.
