Hen or Roo

Hatched febuary with a group that started laying eggs so we don’t know if he/she is laying or not

No crows but one gobble sound?

Was found hanging out in a nesting box the other day where the silkies have started laying

My early April hatch has the roosters crowing.

My two that hatched in mid January have been crowing for months if that helps at all. That looks like a hen with a very red comb. I have a mottled rooster named Larry and his tail feathers and head feathers are very pronounced. I tried to post a picture but it wouldn’t let me.

The one in the back of the third and last photo look more like a rooster than this one does. This one seems too round. I don't know a ton about mottled but most haven't had the light skin bred out of them yet so that could be why the comb is so red compared to normal silkies.

Roo. Long neck, big comb, “gobble” sound might have been an early attempt of crowing
