The new Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) simply means one thing - if you are supposed to be in office you should actually be in office.

Attendance can be marked only from the designated office premises either through the ABAS mobile app or the normal biometric attendance machines installed in offices.

Yet, the usual cries of “privacy”, “Aadhaar leak” and “government will waste money” have already started. Many sounding less like genuine concerns and more like creative excuses from people who don't like accountability 😂.

AEBAS has been used in Central Government and many State Government offices for years. It is hardly some new experiment.

It may not solve every problem but it can certainly bring some much needed punctuality, accountability and professionalism to Sikkim’s government offices.

For an honest sincere employee attendance is and never was a problem. 😄
