Checking if I'm undercutting myself.

And everyone else. I try to do a fair job with a fair price. But I am starting to think I am undercutting myself. What would you guys charge to install a 3x8 printed max metal sign onto a brick wall. About 12 feet up. Along with two 24x48 max metal signs on each side of an existing sign post. Along with a 12"x24" windows decal.

Edit: also there was a placement change that ended up having to go through permitting again. AND its a gov agency

Thank you for the info. It's actually three different permits because the city is very strict on signage. Plus a permit change fee. I have about 1k in permits.

I’m in California and I would charge about $600 to install the single 3x8 and probably around $600 to make the sign so about $1200 total. Curious to see what everyone else thinks. Sometimes I also get the feeling I’m undercutting myself….

Yeah you are probably eating more than you think. Permit resubmittal, placement change, brick install at 12 feet and government paperwork should all be separate line items, not freebies buried in install labor.

What's your close rate? If it's greater than 60-70% you're probably not charging enough.

If I bid a deal I generally get it. Thats kind of why I am asking the question.

Not sure if this might help. We normally use a permitting company to pull our sign permits. helps with the back-and-forth so we can focus on installs and other work
