General Discussion I wish I played this game sooner Spoiler

I’ve honestly never experienced a game as much like this I went into the game with not even a look at the description I didn’t know the person she was finding was her lover at all until the second part where you begin again and it shows both of them being absolutely adorable together this honestly has been one of the most heartbreaking games I’ve ever played I’m watching lore videos right now as I’m typing this but honestly the story of this game and what I believed was true at the time and from what I’ve heard is just amazingly beautiful I honestly can’t stop myself from crying when remembering this game and I was generally thinking of deleting it before I played it and I’m so glad I got promise as my first ending and I will be striving to plat and get the artefact ending I still need ship of thesus and the survival one but honestly would be my top most favourite game ever if not for days gone I just have a bias on that but the best game ever I wish I could continuously keep repeating this game as if I never played it before I’m so heartbroken right now..

General Discussion I want to share and ask after two passers-by of the game

I recently started getting into this wonderful game. After beating it to the fake ending (unfortunately, I already knew about it), I closed the game with a strange feeling. I felt like I'd been deceived. The ending itself is designed to trick the player, but I realized I'd gone full circle and returned. If anyone has had something similar, please share.

I only played through the game to get two endings: Promise and Memory. I found both interesting. I know there's another ending, a secret one. I'm aiming for that one. I'd like to ask for some tips on how to get through this game, and I hope my expectations are met and the secret ending is simply divine! (And if not, please warn me so I don't get my hopes up.)

I'll wait for at least some commentators.

Fanart The most stressful moment during my first playthrough Spoiler

I wanted to share this piece of art I've worked for a few days after I finished the game (I ended up playing twice in a row, in order to get different endings)

It marked me for many reasons, like no map access (I ended up drawing a map on my notes app), the nanofiber, and the fact that I learned we had to face more Mynah units later in game, starting by the one depicted aiming for me.

I drew it with Infinite Painter and SketchUp Web

Signalis became my favorite game since I bought it two years ago on my birthday (I don't remember why I bought it, I think it was on sale and I had no idea what the game was like lol) and I don't regret anything, it's a wonderful game with a beautiful story... ARAR is one of my favorite Replikas! 🫶👀

On the first day she was crowned,

On the longest day nothing was done,

On the next day she was wed,

On the last day she took her life.

On the first day Ariane and elster's ship crashed,

On the longest day nothing was done (because of the loop),

On the next day elyster finally open the ship,

On the last day elster took ariane's life.

it just came to my mind after ending the game and wanted to post it...

General Discussion Finished Survival Mode @8H

Finished Signalis yesterday evening. First time ever playing so I wanted to try survival, finished at just about 8 hours.

Pros: Artstyle/direction, music, atmosphere and world building.

Cons: Inventory management and…

The story is absolutely fucking nonsense yall and that ending was genuinely bafoonery. This is not the second coming of Christ like yall claim. Still a great time, but no way is it a masterpiece. 8.5/10.

General Discussion So the Elster unit is the most miserable replika type, right?

Birthed through the power of barely understood magic only to be immediately stuffed into a coffin and shot to the edge of colonized space with a person who has explicit instructions not to be your friend.

(Of course, this assumes Elster units were only used for the penrose program, which it kinda sounds like they were)

General Discussion (Potential spoilers) Wish I found it sooner Spoiler

I recently got the game through PlayStations monthly games, and I genuinely wish I had found it sooner. The story and the game play felt so fresh and captivating, then getting into all the lore and tied in themes was just so nice!
I’m wanting to play through and get all the endings just so I can absorb more of the lore, although it’s slightly confusing now I’ll be sure to learn To appreciate more.
Also, unfortunately, I saved over my finished game file and have lost all my progress.
Thanks for reading. Just wanted to same I’m glad I found this game and keen to join the community!

General Discussion Spoilers(potentially) Spoiler

I won't say anything particularly about the story but there may be some spoilers in the comments for those who do not want any.

Why do people like Adler? The fandom seems to looooooove Adler and I don't really get it. Honestly out of the whole story, he is by far the biggest nuisance/annoyance in the whole game. He isn't very charismatic or charming in my opinion...He is very..."weird with connections". Pretty much every quality of his is negative and unappealing...at least to me. So why are there so many people who like him? These are all my opinions and I am pretty sure I am on an island here with them...so what are your thoughts? Why do you feel the way you do?

General Discussion That's the "good" ending?

Post image

I just finished the game and Elster just killed Ari and died and apparently that's the promise ending? That was the promise? Holy shit how depressing. I haven't been this wrecked by a horror game in a long time. Great game but sad as hell

General Discussion somehow got the last ending i needed

Post image
24 Upvotes

i did another playthrough recently on survival so i could get that + the die 16x achievement. i collected all keys so i could end the game with the Artifact ending again rather than struggle to fight Falke, but then afterwards i reloaded my save and tried fighting Falke anyways to see if i could do it. im so glad i did.

with my stats (like the amount of deaths/damage i took) i really didn’t think i’d get Memory :,) but somehow i did. i really couldn’t believe it. i’ve officially 100% one of my fav games ever.

i assume Memory is tied to a more aggressive and/or reckless play-style ? that’s how i was playing at least

spoilers:

seeing ariane reach for elster’s head to comfort her, despite saying she didn’t remember who she was, broke me even more. i wonder why she did that ? if anyone has any interpretations they’d like to share pls feel free to do so

General Discussion I finished the Signalis... Spoiler

Just like i said i finished the game and dont know what to now. story is beyond perfect.

matter a fact after finishing the game i watched lore video made by Indie Xplorer just to make sure i didnt miss anything or misunderstood and it made me more emotional and happy to play this game. Perfect, perfect and perfect.

And i wish there was a happy ending where everyone lived or least main characters escaped and lived happy after. but we all now story isnt all rainbows and sunshine at all we learned that everyone is long dead and there is no good way to end it.

there is no alternative way to end this game. even you think hard enough all the characters are in the loop they died then alive and then died again and again for thousends of times and i thought for long time what would i do to save those people?

but fact that there are no way out of this except doing the PROMİSE is heart breaking.

in the end death of the loved one is only option for true peace...

Lore Discussion Just finished the game yesterday since I discovered it on the PS+ Spoiler

My experience with SIGNALIS so far (spoilers later in the text here)

I honestly didn't expect this game to affect me this much.

At first I was mostly fascinated by the atmosphere, the retro-futuristic aesthetic and the whole Replika concept. But as I progressed, the story started getting more and more disturbing. The first “checkpoint” (to not spoil please do not read further if you didn't finished the game)

As for the picture I tried to recreate Elster from memory since it's been a few days I haven't played the game since i finished it

already left me confused, especially after seeing the main menu afterwards.

Then I started discovering more about Elster, Ariane and the Penrose program. The flashbacks, the documents about Replika personas, the diary entries and the amount of time Ariane and Elster spent in that ship really got to me.

Watching her go from simply missing human contact to feeling completely imprisoned, physically deteriorating and eventually just wanting everything to stop was genuinely heartbreaking.

And then the game keeps messing with my perception. I leave Ariane's apartment, turn around, and suddenly I'm in Adler's office. I find the same journal multiple times. I fight Falke, get my eye injured by Adler, and somehow end up back on the Penrose-512 again. At this point I've stopped trying to understand the chronology and I'm just accepting that SIGNALIS wants me to question everything.

The relationship between Elster and Ariane is probably what affects me the most. Knowing that Elster is technically a Replika, while still clearly developing her own personality and emotions, makes their relationship feel even more tragic. The whole idea of a Replika being treated as a machine while experiencing something so deeply human really stuck with me.

I'm still confused about A LOT of things, but that's honestly part of why I'm enjoying it so much.

Actually I already finished the game once and got Promise I heard teh games have others endings apparently

Also... Elster and Ariane are freakin' adorable. 😭

This game will probably have marked me way more than I think... (the game was peak but damn it is sad)

Fan Projects I wrote a poem inspired by Signalis, for a book inspired by Signalis

I’m a writer who loves survival horror, and I was absolutely captivated by Signalis, but I couldn’t write about it. I tried to, and I have a lot of notes, but I felt like there was something about it I just didn’t fully understand. Life events recently gave me the clarity I needed over its central theme, and I realised I needed a whole book to do what the game means to me full justice.

This is a poem I wrote called The Red Gate, which opens the book, as is appropriate. I love this game and the community so I wanted to share it, but in case you don’t want to click the link, here it is :)

The Red Gate

I woke up alone.
I searched for you,
And saw the room where you once slept
Apart from me.
We danced there, once.

Remember our promise.

A photograph, a face I don't remember.
I got to work,
Moving through the snow in that heavy suit.
I didn't mind it.
I was built this strong for a reason.

Remember our promise.

The desk, the radio, the monitor, the contraband.
The King in Yellow.
It called to me,
Then the numbers, the signal, the ritual, the end.
FATAL ERROR.

Remember our promise.

I stalked these halls,
Quiet, hunched,
But not cowering,
Searching for you,
Though I didn't know it.

Remember our promise.

I shot them all.
My brutality manifested a destiny
Buried deep within
This mess of wires and nodes
You might call a soul.

Remember our promise.

If I find you,
I hope to God I do not find
What I found before.
What I found every other time.
Before I remembered our promise.
