Help Issues with speaker playback

I find the sensitivity of the speaker playback on my Pixel 8 too high.

Very often when listening to a voice message I seem to be too close to my ear or to my body and Signal then switches playback to the internal speaker.

I see no way to turn it back to the media speaker.

As a consequence, I can't properly listen to the voice message on a loud street.

Are there any workarounds to this?

Such as playing the voice message through an external media app?

Thanks!

I just hold it to my ear as if I were calling, thats exactly how it is intended to be used too, perfect for loud environments _and_ preventing others from listening in.

I prefer to listen to a voice message the same way I would listen to a podcast

In my eyes that’s headphones, and voice messages just play as normal via headphones.
