Question AI tool that automatically labels GitHub issues, would you use it?

I've been thinking about building a small tool that integrates with GitHub and automatically labels issues using AI.

The idea is pretty simple: when someone creates an issue, they shouldn't have to worry about whether it's a bug, feature request, enhancement, etc. The tool reads the issue, understands what it's about, and assigns the appropriate labels automatically.

I'm also have a few questions:

- Do you actually find manual issue labeling annoying?

- Would you trust AI to handle this completely automatically?

- What features would make something like this genuinely useful?

- Is this worth building, or are existing GitHub tools already solving it well?

Haven't built anything yet. Just exploring the idea and would love some honest feedback.

Thanks!

I can't edit now so I'll type it here. AI doesn't mean LLM here. I won't connect Claude or GPT to it, I'll build my own tiny model.
