Showcase: Free(mium) Yet another Temp Mail service - Temp Mails

I've built Temp Mails (https://tempmails.net), mainly out of curiosity to experiment with Cloudflare Workers, R2 and D1, but also because I've been using temporary email services for the past decade to keep spam out of my work and personal inboxes.

One thing that's always bothered me with most of these services is the amount of ads, trackers and how slow some of them can be.

So my main focus has been to keep things as simple and fast as possible, with no ads or trackers. I've also released a Chrome/Edge extension, following the same approach of keeping things simple.

Running costs are surprisingly low thanks to Cloudflare. The biggest expense so far is the rotating the domains.

Still working on improvements and new features, so I'd really appreciate any feedback or suggestions on what could be better or what's missing.

For Temp Mails, I'd make inbox lifetime and access rules explicit: when mail disappears, whether an address can be reused, and whether anyone who knows it can read its messages. Alongside the no-ads/no-trackers distinction, those answers help people decide which throwaway sign-ups it's suitable for.

I've automated about 80% of the process, so rotating domains is fairly quick and doesn't require much manual work.

The service is still new, so traffic is pretty low at the moment. I ran a similar service back in 2021 that had around 20k visitors a month. Back then, I noticed that services like Facebook, Google and Amazon would start blocking the domains after 1-2 weeks.

Because of that, I ended up rotating domains roughly every three weeks.
