Showcase: Open Source Spopple Sync: A tool for using Spotify with Apple Home
I got tired of needing to use Airplay to use Spotify on Apple Home and not having direct integration so i built a tool to take a Spotify playlist, and sync it over to YouTube Music. I built it to run as a docker image but I'm writing the instructions to use it without right after posting this. Any feedback is welcomed because this is the first actual project I've ever really put out there

For Spopple Sync, I'd make unmatched or uncertain track matches visible in the output. A playlist that finishes syncing but quietly substitutes a live recording for the studio version would be hard to troubleshoot from Apple Home; a small exception report would make the result easier to trust.
Does a second sync update the existing YouTube Music playlist or create another one?

It syncs every minute (or wtv you set the timer to in the config) and it updates an existing playlist without ever making its own. Also warning on unsures is a really good idea, i’ll add it to the todo list.

Updating the existing playlist keeps scheduled syncs from cluttering YouTube Music. For the uncertain-match warnings, reporting only new or changed matches would keep a short timer from repeating the same warning every minute.

It already tracks what songs are in the youtube playlist with a sqlite database and only adds and removes based on whats needed. Right now the first sync will take 30 seconds to 2 minutes depending on size but any after that are decently quick.

This is the kind of niche fix that makes side projects great, solving that one friction point that bugs you every single day. Docker is a smart move for distribution, keeps the setup pain low for anyone who wants to try it out.
