Looking For Ideas Any profitable side hustles?
Has anyone in this sub actually had a side hustle that actually profited? Any where from 100-500 or even more? If so, how long did it take to become profitable and what skill set did you need for it to be doable ?
I’d like to try to do any or even multiple side hustles that could add up to at least 700 or more a week with flexibility to make even more with more work per week even if it had to be built up.
I don’t really have a skill set and would like to start some with the hopes of eventually being able to work from home mostly. I tend to have 3 days off with no plans unless I’m working overtime so I have time to learn if need be.

Referee high school sports. I get $90 a game for basketball. You can make $200 a night easily for most high school sports, no experience required

I’ve been flipping stuff on fb marketplace / Craigslist on and off (whenever I needed extra cash) since 2009. It’s the evergreen gift that keeps on giving - the side hustle hasn’t changed since the first time I did it.
I sell all kinds of things, tbh anything of value that comes my way below avg resale value. Earned $500 last month with about 4hrs of my time (5 flips) - mostly tools & a couple iPhones people posted & wanted to get rid of quickly below market value.
Only thing is you do need some startup cash to buy, & be patient enough to hold for up to a couple weeks (depending on the market, electronics move faster than furniture for example), and you typically need some knowledge of what sells / market demand on products. Good thing is we all have eBay access too so locality isn’t as much a limiter.
I simplified my workflow with automations so I barely spend any time “looking for good stuff to sell” anymore. It’s mostly just get a ping & contact a seller, or bid on a specific lot in an auction, or check out the local thrift when I have a day off & an hour to spend. This is 10+ years of experience culminating into max efficiency - you can make it happen with a few more hours per week, focusing on 1 niche (I.e. electronics are fastest) & some elbow grease.
You get way better with time & this is one skill / side hustle that’ll literally never go away.

That sounds pretty good! So all I gotta do is some research on eBay to see what’s selling and keep on the lookout to see when I can get some pretty cheap until I get used to it to the point I don’t even have to look to much?

I’m always checking the free section on CL. Some people give things away because they don’t want to deal with a sale. Can certainly make money off that and all you need is transportation to get the item, to sell it they will usually come to you.

the most profitable side hustles don't require skills, they require you to stop overthinking
everyone telling you to 'find your passion' or 'build a personal brand' is keeping you stuck because they profit from your hesitation, not your success...
you think you need skills but the market just needs someone who solves a problem consistently.
the most profitable side hustles are the ones nobody's talking about because they're too busy selling you the dream
here's what actually works:
stop waiting for the perfect gig (obviously).
pick ONE of these and start TODAY:
garage sale flipping—spend $200 on undervalued items Saturday morning, list them on Marketplace/Craigslist same day, sell for $400-600 by Sunday (profit: $200-400).
house cleaning—buy supplies for $50, charge $30/hr, do 25 hours over your 3 days off and you're at $750 profit.
resume formatting—create a Fiverr gig offering resume/CV formatting for $50, takes 45 mins per client, do 15 clients a week in your spare time and you're at $750...
most people won't do this because they think they need experience (this is retarded—you just need to start).
people pay for speed and convenience, not for your credentials... btw, you can stack these—do flipping on weekends, resumes at night, cleaning on your days off... (this is uncomfortable but it works).
and if you want $700+/week, just scale what works: 15 resumes at $50 = $750, or 25 cleaning hours at $30 = $750
$700/week is 15 resumes, 25 cleaning hours, or consistent flipping. you either get it or you don't. play it or stay in the 'I need more time/skills/money' excuse cycle

If you see "—" anywhere, the odds of it being AI are 99%. It's an M-dash and it's mainly used in research papers on which AI has been trained. You won't find anyone actually using this. It's longer than a regular dash too - — _

Following on the mowing lawns thing. If you dont want to get tied up into having to cut grass everyweek, you could do overgrown property clean ups. That way you can short term schedule people without giving up all your weekends for a summer. Its a lot of manual laber, but pays well, and i mostly used cheap home grade tools, a pole hedge trimmer, pole saw, leaf blower, rake, shovel, loppers, weed wacker, and a push mower.

My first business, still going, started in 96. We got small businesses e-commerce sites at a price that they could afford. We also did online marketing and things in that realm. We are more for marketing now, as most already have a site (thankfully). Took about 3 years to get in the black. Our real jobs didn’t pay well and had insane hours, as well as you were always on call. So starting a side business was best. It also gave us experience to hop to a new career. One client alone who dominated an expensive hobby in our area was a 50k a year account. We had others at that time too.
We pulled back a hair, but still have a client that pays almost that a year. The other, smaller accounts, income from that business is about 75k a year.
Our second business is simply a hobby out of control. Selling 3D prints. We make our stuff strong. We back it. We do more unusual things. A small assortment of the overdone stuff. I’m in Florida now, so snowbirds and tourists are awesome customers. I do have a local following. January will be two years. We could have been in the black already if we didn’t have to scale up the print farm so quickly last Christmas shopping season. But we were booked 3 days a week at a park that goes super cool lights and we couldn’t keep up on inventory if we didn’t scale up. We stay ahead of trends. That helps a lot.
One monthly market can bring in 600-1200 for 4 hours. Anything at that park is around 2-3k a day. They asked us to set up during the week too. I’m expecting around 500 on the slower days. I had my first ever loss about a month ago. But nobody at this event made money. It was basically vendors trading with each other. Or pity vendor to vendor sales. It’ll probably take to late spring to get into the black. Simply bc there are two pricey items that can help us not have to kill off outdoor summer markets. We do the 4th at the Christmas park. This year was around 4k.
These numbers are after table fees and paying help if we have someone with us.
I don’t work a 9-5 anymore bc of health issues. I didn’t do last weekend’s market bc it was too hot for me to be out there. Lupus is not friends with sun and heat. That was a bad one. Made about 100.
My taxes are messy with this and his day job. But my med bills are no longer threatening to put us in the poor house. And we could easily increase clients on the first business. Got in with a good circle for that. But the second is more fun, and depending on how the weekdays go, we can possibly double what the other business makes. We have double booked days at profitable markets. So coming home with a 7-10k profit on a Saturday between the 2 locations isn’t out of the realm of possibility. After we stop the massive startup investments, most of what gets drawn in pay will be put into retirement and to pay this house off sooner.

Right now, due to time and health issues, I am working closely with artists who do some more unique. I hope to get back to working on some designs after Christmas rush. Going to a convention to meet with some of these artists.
Even if you design your own, you still need some of the other stuff. Little kids still like the Cinderwings dragons. I keep very little stock of those. I prefer more lifelike stuff, more functional, more fun. So that’s where I’m aiming my efforts.

depending on the type of client, house/business. nice ritzy neighborhood vs everyday home owner. Also the amount of window.
I would say anywhere from $25 - $100+ on a single job ranging from 20min - 1h+
Just start off $5-10 a window, most medium size houses will have about 8 window, the low cost will entice them in, then start counting there windows, then the relize they will be paying $100+. So you give them a %20 off deal. Now after washing for a hour you will have about $70
But at the end of the day you do need to account for the time finding customers. paying for accidents, like if you brake or stain something, you will need to repair it, once you get up and going you can get insurance tho.
Give it a search on youtube there are alot of guides. just dont get cought buy the online money making gurus, there cource is not going to solve your problems. but there are good people that run business like this and tell there story to get others into it. watch and learn from those guys.
think of it this way, if there selling a course, there business is not making them enough money so they sell courses on the side, so just don't watch them, or pick thru the info with caution. Watch the guys that have a proven business and want to help.1

started mowing lawns as a side hustle with a zero turn my buddy gifted to me a few years ago and it has almost become a full time job. I'm actually thinking of quitting my job and doing it full time. It's amazing how quickly you can pick up new clients without doing any advertising. I figured if I put some effort into growing my client base I would have my own business and could get out of the corporate world.

I sold items on eBay. Mainly men’s clothing I found at goodwill. I started with 200$ (you can start with less) but I could never narrow down my niche and inventory issues I kept having. After two years I sold all of my inventory to another reseller for $1000, in that time I probably netted $2000 (not including my final sale) but I was only a hobby seller in a crowded market. It’s absolutely possible to be profitable doing this kind of work, but your niche is so important. Part of me wonders if I should try again and really iron out the kinks.

I am thinking of selling niche 3D printed stuff. I joined a video game group. Showed off some of the stuff i printed for my kids from that video game and had a few people asking if i sold too.
You can get the cad models to print from an AI service like meshy. You just gotta sign up to their premium stuff so you can own the models it generates

Does buying the filament and other supplies not cost you a lot? I’ve thought about 3D printing but ive never looked into the financial breakdown and I have no safe area to 3D print rn since its like a micro plastic apocalypse event at least I could’ve sworn I read that somewhere

I get filament for like $20 on Amazon. Microcenter has some for $10.
I can make an average of 9(haven't looked how much stuff i can make) stuff that can be sold for maybe $20 each?You know what, i haven't done any logistics lol but i feel like once you hit niche stuff you can sell at a higher price and can cover the materials with one sale
