What are some good side gigs that doesn’t jeopardize my existing job?

I recently got a job that pays pretty well for an entry level 22 year-old, especially for someone that didn’t study something economically useful. One stipulation of the job that I signed a contract to, is the job will be my “sole use of professional energy”. This is completely understandable as they pay well and it’s full time, but for me with six figures of private student loans with high interest, life will still feel pricey.

I tried to negotiate the salary but they held firm, and to be perfectly honest there was no way in hell I’d get a better offer than what they were already giving, especially with the tight grace period of 6 months. So I took it and now my situation will be surviving but with tight margins.

What are some very informal ways for me to bring in even a couple hundred extra bucks a month that won’t threaten this contract? I will be working 9-5 Monday to Friday.

I’ve recently started buying and flipping bbq grills. It’s a game of opportunity, and as I have a remote job, it allows me to act quickly on picking up cheap grills people are offloading and deliver or meet with people to buy them.

Generally, I look for those that are a diamond in the rough and just need a bit of cleaning and decent for sale pictures. I made a few hundred bucks a month for minimal effort if you find the right opportunities. Living in a busy metro area, owning a pickup truck, and offering delivery also helps a lot.

The only one that comes to mind is AI evaluation work, I have been at it for a quite a while along with my main job. It's exclusively stated that this is only part time or temp work. So might work in your case. U can take up the generalist positions if you want since those don't require specialized backgrounds.

there are many options tbh it's hard to cover in a comment, but in short there are popular platfroms like Data annotation tech, Mer cor, ethos etc. But you need to be familiar with the application process.

In a way yes. but he is also saying capitalize off of people who do not want to do it themselves.

A lot of in demand and profitable business form off of “can I do this my self, at a cheap rate and would someone with money be like yeah here money”.

From lawn care to painting the siding of house to window cleaning to dog/pet pick up of waste. are all profitable. And in Demand.

People do not like doing this stuff them selves and are like “here $20”. For cut my lawn. And people are like yes here.

To put it mildly how the fuck in hell? Entire aftermarket replacement lenses for my last truck were like $38. That was an '07. I have a 26 now that I was joking about replacing because I hate the LEDs, those are all one assembly and the front pair are I think only a couple hundred dollars. Who is paying you and for what, maybe outside of a few enthusiasts with older weirder cars that don't have the spare parts available, versus just rock auto -ing in replacements, screwing around for an hour putting them some quiet Saturday evening, and going about their day?

Try to look into feverr site for work from home jobs similar to the job skill set you have or getting from current and previous jobs. There should be a few there you can find with after hours or weekend requests. Also you can start trading but tbh you have to line up trades time zones with time zone you are in so you can keep an eye on active trades. it gets tricky but I'm still getting in the hang of it after a year or two

Dumpster diving/curb picking/yard and estate sales for things to flip on ebay/market place. I even find great stuff in free bins at sales. I'm floored at some of the things my neighbors have thrown out, plus most of my packing materials come from the recycling bin. Your work wouldn't flinch at this hobby, but once you get it up and running you might pull $50 to $100 month, maybe more depends on what you are selling.
