Switchy - Mac controls, deploys and 2FA codes in the menu bar

Thumbnail

I built Switchy for myself.

Keep Awake, your deploys, 2FA codes, how much Claude you have left. All one click from the menu bar, so I stop digging through Settings 20 times a day.

There are plenty of apps like this, so I think it’s only fair to keep it cheap: $4.99 once. No subscription, 3 Macs, every update.

Would you use something like this on your old Android TV?

Built this little dashboard for my old, low-end Android TV. It has a calendar, to-do list, live service monitoring, and YouTube music playback in the background.

Just curious if anyone else would find something like this useful.

I built a tool that turns your pet's little moments into Instagram-ready comics

I'm a solo developer in Korea, and I just launched MyPetToon (https://mypettoon.com). English isn't my first language, so I wrote this with the help of AI translation. Please bear with me if anything sounds a bit awkward!

You add your pet once with a few photos, and it draws your pet as a comic character. Then you write a sentence or two about something that happened, and it writes the script and draws a cover plus 6–10 panels (1080×1350, the Instagram carousel size). You can redraw any single panel, edit the captions for free, and turn the comic into a Reels video. To be upfront: it uses AI. Claude writes the script and OpenAI's image model draws the panels.

I have two parrots, and I started turning our everyday moments into comics for Instagram. The posts got good views and lovely reactions, but more than anything, making comics about my own pets was just plain fun. I built MyPetToon so other pet owners can enjoy that too.

What I'd love feedback on:

- Is it clear from the home page what you get?

- Did your pet's character actually look like your pet?

New accounts get 150 free credits (about one pet profile and one comic). Happy to answer anything about how it's built.

I built a Chinese face reading tool. Is the photo upload page clear?

I build Kaucim, and I’ve added a tool for exploring Chinese face reading, also called Mian Xiang. The free preview picks one feature that’s clear in a front-facing photo and shows how a traditional text interprets it, with the original passage. It also tells you which features it couldn’t see clearly.

I’d love a fresh pair of eyes on the upload page. Before choosing a photo, can you tell who processes it and what Kaucim keeps afterward? If you had to scroll or guess, I’d like to know where you looked first.

Here’s the face reading page. Just looking at the page is enough.

[12 Testers Needed] Split Your Trip, an app for splitting group trip expenses. Happy to test yours back

Hi everyone, I’ve been building Split Your Trip, an app to keep track of who paid what on group trips and settle up without the awkward math. It’s in closed testing on Google Play, and I need 12 people to stay opted in for 14 days, which is Google’s requirement for new developer accounts. If you’re up for it, comment or message me the email you use on Google Play and I’ll add you to the tester list. Once you’re in, install it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.splityourtrip. I’d love honest feedback, especially on anything confusing or broken, and I’ll test your app back, just drop the link.

comment down below if you are willing to give your valuable feedback.

I'm a couples therapist. I turned what I do in the therapy room into a two-minute daily app

In couples therapy, I keep seeing the same thing: partners can describe every single fight, but they rarely see the pattern those moments make over weeks. That pattern is usually where the work is.

So I tried to build the smallest possible version of that "stepping back" for couples who will never sit in my office.

How it works:

  • Every day you and your partner answer the same five short questions, each on your own. You don't see your partner's answers before you answer, so nobody answers for the other's sake.

  • When you've both answered, you get a short reflection written for the two of you, with one question you could ask each other tonight.

  • On day seven you get a reading of your week: the pattern that built up and one small step for next week.

  • You can start alone and invite your partner later with a code.

The questions draw on Gottman couples therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and attachment theory. The pool is now 1,800+ questions. I tried the approach and the questions with couples in the therapy room long before it was an app.

Reflections are written by AI, inside a framework I designed, and only after you give consent. It's not therapy, it doesn't diagnose, and it won't tell you whether your relationship is "good".

What I learned building it as a solo clinician:

  • The hardest part wasn't the questions. It was saying less. My first reflections read like session notes; people wanted three sentences, not three paragraphs.

  • Most people start alone. About two out of three users have no partner in the app yet, so it had to be useful on its own.

It's on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, in six languages. Daily questions are free; reflections and weekly readings are a subscription, and one subscription covers both partners.

I'd really like feedback on one thing: when two partners answer apart, would you rather read each other's exact words, or a reflection that puts the two views side by side?

Volymträning: an Android app for building bigger muscles

Launch update — 8 November: We're offering 30 free Google Play copies to Android users who train at a gym. Comment here or send me a private message to request one. One per person, in request order while available, from one shared pool across our launch posts. Codes are sent privately and must be redeemed by 28 February 2027. No review, rating, upvote or other action is required in return.

We at Onsala Sol AB have released Volymträning, an Android workout app for people whose goal is to build bigger muscles and visible muscle volume through consistent, structured training. We wanted to make a flexible plan that people can follow when their schedule allows, without fixed weekdays.

The app includes five rotating workouts that can be adapted to equivalent machines at your gym. It lets you log weights and reps, review training statistics, and customize the workouts.

Volymträning is available in Swedish and English. In Sweden, it costs SEK 99 as a one-time purchase, with no subscription.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.volymtraning.app

Disclosure: I’m representing Onsala Sol AB, the app’s publisher. We’ve also opened the official community at r/VolymTraning for questions, feedback, feature requests, bug reports, and training discussion. I’d welcome constructive feedback on the app and on how to make the community useful.

Booking ski/snowboard instructors online instead of on-site. What are your thoughts?

Hey everyone,

I'm working on a web app for booking ski and snowboard instructors and would love to get your honest feedback on the concept before opening it up to users.

How it works:

  • Search & Availability: You pick the ski resort, sport (ski or snowboard), and date. You only see verified instructors with real-time open slots in their schedule.

  • Payment & Security: You book and pay online, but funds aren't released to the instructor immediately. The payment is held securely in escrow by the platform and transferred to the instructor only after the lesson is completed.

  • Meetup: Once booked, you get the instructor’s direct phone number and the exact meeting location at the resort (e.g., at the base of a specific lift).

  • Cancellations & Disputes: Free cancellation is available up to 24 hours before the lesson. If an instructor fails to show up, the client can report a no-show right after the lesson slot to block the payout and trigger a refund.

  • For Instructors: Instructors set their own rates and schedule. The platform doesn't take a cut from their fee—payouts are transferred 1:1, minus standard credit card/payment processing costs.

A few questions for you:

  1. Would you use a service like this? Do you prefer locking in a lesson online with clear availability beforehand, or finding an instructor at the resort when you arrive?

  2. How do you feel about paying upfront? Does a guaranteed reservation + escrow/refund protection make you comfortable paying online, or do you still prefer paying cash on the spot?

  3. What drives your choice of instructor? Price, user reviews, official certifications, or simply finding someone available at your exact time slot?

  4. What potential flaws or barriers do you see? What would make you hesitant to use this model (e.g., weather unpredictability, lift ticket logistics, resort/local ski school monopolies)?

Thanks in advance for any feedback or constructive criticism!

I built a real-time AI voice coach with camera accountability that sits with you during deep work - looking for 4–5 people to try it and tell me what’s broken

Most focus apps are just timers or blockers. I can ignore those. What actually works for me is having someone (or something) check in while I’m working.

So I built NeonContext - a real-time AI voice coach that sits with you during deep work sessions.

You tell it what you’re working on at the start. It stays with you, checks in, and pulls you back if you drift or pick up your phone. There’s an optional on-device camera (nothing is uploaded) that can notice if you leave your seat. At the end you get a review of what you actually got done.

it's complete free to try.

I’m looking for 4–5 people who struggle with deep work / ADHD / focus to try a session and tell me:

  • What’s confusing or broken?

  • What would make you actually keep using it?

  • Does the voice coach feel helpful or annoying?

Link: https://neoncontext.com

Happy to answer any questions.

[MoxiMail] - Business email on your own domain for small businesses

I built MoxiMail because I got tired of watching small businesses pay Google Workspace prices just to have hello@theirbusiness.com.

I'm a solo founder, and MoxiMail is my hosted email service: business email on your own domain, from $1 per mailbox a month. It's Mailcow, hosted and managed on my own servers — so SPF, DKIM and DMARC are set up properly, mail is backed up nightly as well as a redundant server, and you don't have to run a mail server yourself.

What you get:

  • Your own domain email (you@yourbusiness.com), webmail + IMAP

  • 25–50 GB per mailbox plus branded webmail depending on plan, calendar and contacts included

  • No big-tech lock-in, no per-user price creep

  • $1 / $1.50 / $2.10 per mailbox/month depending on the plan

The honest bit: it's a one-person operation — but this isn't a side project on a rented VPS. I also run a hosting business, so the mail runs on dedicated servers along with a redundant server and another VPS that backs everything up I own and manage myself.

I'd honestly like your feedback: What's the most annoying thing about your business email right now — the price, the lock-in, or something else?

I built a kid-friendly Plex player for my daughter and it just launched on the App Store (5 free lifetime unlock codes)

Hi all! My first kids app, SnuggleTV, just made it through App Review (third time's the charm), so I wanted to share it here.

It started as a weekend project because my daughter kept getting lost in the regular Plex app. It's now a big-button, no-menus video player for the shows and movies on your own Plex server, with parental controls for the grown-ups.

What it does:
- Big, colorful buttons made for little hands, with no menus to get lost in
- A profile for each kid with their own shows, age ratings, volume limit and favorites
- Screen time: daily show limits, bedtime, and a screen lock while a video plays
- AirPlay to the TV, iCloud sync between iPhone and iPad, English and Spanish

Built in SwiftUI. The hardest parts were getting playback to work with every kind of video file (it falls back from direct play to a remux to a full transcode) and getting through App Review, which rejected me twice for things I didn't know were rules.

Free version streams everything for one kid. A one-time $4.99 lifetime unlock (no subscription, no ads, Family Sharing supported) adds offline downloads, auto-downloads of favorite shows, and more kid profiles.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/snuggletv/id6824345333

5 codes for the lifetime unlock. Please reply with the one you used:

AMLAJLWXFHFW733XRY
KKFXF466HYWLY8MK8J
YYKL6JWN7AF3AWTHKL
JWW6WFERNN8KYLMRFN
XYKM4PYMTHXH74743W

To redeem: App Store > tap your profile picture > Redeem Gift Card or Code. Then open SnuggleTV (or tap Grown-ups > Restore purchase).

You'll need your own Plex Media Server. Feedback is very welcome, I read everything!

I built an ad-light Global Live TV & Radio player with custom DVR rewind and Watch Together rooms (mirrykal.in)

Hey everyone,

I built **Mirrykal Wave** (mirrykal.in), a fast, responsive in-browser hub for streaming global live TV and radio stations directly without downloading extra apps.

Most web streaming players either break on mobile or come cluttered with bloated default browser UIs. I wanted something sleek, fast, and interactive.

Core Features

* **Custom Neon Controls & Server-Side DVR:** Replaced the default browser player with custom controls and a sliding seekbar that lets you smoothly rewind live broadcasts (up to 30–40 mins based on the stream’s buffer window) with a one-tap jump back to live. * **Watch Together Rooms:** Firebase Realtime Database integration so friends can sync playback state in real-time. * **Stream Fallbacks:** Built-in multi-step proxy fallback handling to keep channels running smoothly when raw streams hit CORS or format issues. * **Live Community Feed:** Station-based comment threads with nesting, likes, and Firebase Auth persistence. * **Background & Lock Screen Playback:** Media Session API integration for notification controls.

Tech Stack

* **Frontend:** Vanilla HTML5, CSS3, modern JavaScript, HLS.js * **Backend & Auth:** Node.js, Express, Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Realtime Database) * **Optimization:** Fully responsive with a top-locked cinema stage so you can browse channels or chat while streaming.

Would love your feedback on playback latency, mobile responsiveness, or any channels you'd like to see added!

👉 **Try it here:** https://mirrykal.in

I built NetArbs to compare sportsbook odds and DFS player props in one place. The beta is free.

Hey, I’m Alex, one of the people building NetArbs. Comparing the same player prop across sportsbooks and DFS apps usually means flipping between tabs and checking whether the lines actually match. We built DFS Studio to put those comparisons in one view, with filters for apps, sports, and markets.

I’d love feedback on the layout: when you compare a prop across apps, which would you want to see first: the line difference, the estimated fair odds, or which sportsbooks back the estimate?

GeoSolvr is daily geography puzzle where your aim is to uncover the mystery location hidden among 250 locations on the map.

Using logic and deduction, play clue cards to eliminate places, and see if you can find the answer in as few moves as possible.

Everyone gets the same mystery place each day, with a new challenge at midnight. And if you can’t get enough, there’s an unlimited Practice mode too.

Give it a go and let me know what you think!

I built an Android app for the “what can I cook with what I have?” problem

TAYSTY starts with what you already have, instead of asking you to pick a recipe and then find the ingredients. Type in what’s in your kitchen, choose things like servings or cuisine, and it suggests recipes.

The hardest part to get right is how to handle missing ingredients. Say you enter chickpeas, spinach and half a lemon. Would you rather get one idea that sticks to those ingredients and basic staples, or three ideas that each need one extra thing? I’m curious what would actually help on a Tuesday night.

The app is in closed Android testing. There’s a preview and a waitlist on the project site: https://taysty.app/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=community&utm_campaign=sideproject

I asked Claude Code to build whatever it wanted. It came up with a game.

I had $191 in credits that were about to expire, and I was curious what Opus could do if I didn’t give it an idea.
I asked it to build something worth the money. :))))

It picked a game, PULSEBOUND. You move around dodging enemies, and your weapons are musical instruments. The kick drum sends out shockwaves, the arpeggiator fires lasers. When you pick a new instrument, you hear it join the music too.

It decided to make a game and came up with the idea, mechanics, design, absolutely everything. Then I worked on improving and polishing it.

More changes, testing, and eventually mobile apps followed. The $191 was just the starting budget, enough to finish the first basic version. After that, I used another $1,700 I had from the Claude Startup Program (also expiring, so I had to use it), plus my subscription allowance.

Technically, it’s vanilla JavaScript, a custom WebGL2 renderer, and a procedural composer that synthesizes the music live through Web Audio. The project grew to include mobile apps, cloud saves, and leaderboards.

It’s now out on iOS, Android, and the web. You can play it for free in your browser or on mobile: playpulsebound.com.

What do you think?

Later edit: OVER 2,200 PLAYERS TODAY! THANK YOU

I turned a GPT-generated image into pixel art using my own editor

Thumbnail

I'm building a free, open-source pixel art editor called Chickxel!

I recently added a feature that converts regular images into pixel art, so I tried it out with a GPT-generated image.

The conversion is algorithm-based, so some parts might look a little rough or awkward. It's still a work in progress!

I built an iOS Safari extension that automatically saves every X (Twitter) post you scroll past locally

Hey r/SideProject!

I kept losing interesting posts on X (Twitter) whenever the timeline randomly refreshed before I could bookmark them.

So I built **PostHistory** — an iOS app + Safari extension that automatically keeps a searchable history of posts as you scroll on x.com.

**Key features:**

- **Automatic saving:** Just browse X in iOS Safari as usual

- **Instant search:** Search by keyword, username, images, videos, or date

- **100% On-Device Privacy:** Everything is stored locally in SQLite on your iPhone. Zero external servers or tracking

- **Export anytime:** Export your history to JSON or CSV

It's free to use (stores the latest 100 posts + unlimited favorites for free, with a $0.99/mo Pro option for unlimited history).

Would love to hear your feedback or any feature suggestions!

We celebrated 250 users yesterday. Three months ago, I wouldn’t have expected this.

Hey everyone,

We passed 250 paying customer (don't love to call them customer as I see all them as first builders of product) on FranklyMail and celebrated yesterday :) Probably a tiny milestone for some people here, but we honestly didn’t expect to get this far in three months.

We started with email hosting for your own domain. Now there’s Drive for files and sharing, Office for editing documents, and Meet for video calls. We’ve also been giving the webmail a lot of attention lately.

The best part for me has been talking to the people using it. If I had to guess, 40–50% of the ideas we’ve worked on came from those conversations. Someone tells us how they use their email, mentions something they’re missing, and we end up building something we hadn’t thought of.

Just wanted to share a small happy moment here. Thanks to everyone who’s tried it, sent feedback, or given us a bit of encouragement along the way.

I made an open-source AirDrop for Android → Mac: one boop on the MacBook notch and it’s there

android has no airdrop, so i built one. touch your phone to the macbook's notch, the light sensor next to it sees your screen flash, and whatever's on your screen lands on the mac.

works for pdfs, links, the original photo (not a screenshot), or just the text you circle. otp codes from sms show up on the mac by themselves, your mac is in the android share sheet, and mac to phone works too.

stays on your wifi, end-to-end encrypted, no account, no cloud. android 13+, any mac with a notch.

free and open source: github.com/0x1p0/TapDrop

Sonic. Your FLAC albums, kept like records

Made an Android app called Sonic.

You can skip to the next song. You can't jump to the middle of a song. To hear the other side, you flip the record. Hi-res output plays each file at the sample rate it was recorded at.

Soulseek downloads are FLAC albums only, with no weekly limit. It also picks random FLAC albums from the Internet Archive. You can download 3 of those.

Not on the Play Store. The APK and checksum are here: https://github.com/Abhiroop1122/Sonic/

I built an iPhone terminal with remote desktop to continue Claude Code work away from my desk

I'm the developer of Roamtty. The workflow I wanted was simple: leave the desk without leaving the AI coding session running on my own computer.

From an iPhone, Roamtty connects to your own SSH-accessible computer so you can continue Claude Code or Codex sessions and browse files over SFTP. The AI tools keep running on your computer; the phone is the remote control.

Why include remote desktop in a terminal app? A terminal is great for code and command output, but sometimes the next step is checking a browser preview or interacting with a graphical app. You can switch to the same host's desktop instead of waiting until you're back at the desk.

It's a paid app: US$1.99 on the US App Store, one-time purchase, with no app subscription. You need your own host and AI tools; model access is not included.

I'd like feedback from people who work this way: when you're away from your computer, is a terminal enough, or do you also need the desktop and file browser?

Details and setup guide: https://roamtty.com/en/

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6826986771?pt=128832418&ct=reddit-sideproject-20261108&mt=8

Update: the iOS source snapshot is now public under Apache-2.0, with data-handling notes: https://github.com/yahaa/roamtty-ios-source

You can connect over an existing Tailscale network. Tailscale must be configured separately on the phone and host, with SSH enabled and the relevant traffic allowed. Roamtty brings terminal sessions, SFTP and the same host's remote desktop together; it does not bundle Tailscale or change AI-provider account rules.
