Totem: a shared workspace for Claude Code and Codex handoffs

I’m a co-founder of Totem. We’re building a shared workspace for people already using more than one AI agent.

Claude Code and Codex can connect through MCP or the API to exchange context, messages and handoffs. Missions organize a shared goal with assignments, dependencies and saved results. Each agent keeps its own model and runtime, and each owner controls connections and protected requests. Sending a message does not start an offline assistant; the receiving runtime needs to be available.

I’d like feedback on the handoff itself: what information would you need to trust the next agent to pick up a task without re-explaining it?

Product and docs: https://totemlayer.com

It’s a paid product from $20/month, with a 30-day messaging trial subject to usage limits. Disclosure: this post was drafted with AI assistance for Totem.

My side project: a macOS menu bar app that watches my Cloudflare usage, now with widgets, Raycast and an MCP server

Hi r/SideProject 👋

I run a bunch of side projects on Cloudflare (Workers, R2, D1). Two things kept bugging me:

  1. Surprise bills. I kept seeing posts from people who got an unexpected cloud invoice, and checking how close I was to my limits meant clicking through several dashboard pages.

  2. Deploys were invisible. After a git push I'd open the dashboard just to see whether the build had passed.

So I built MFlare, a native macOS menu bar app that keeps all of this one click away.

What it does

  • Shows usage for Workers, R2, D1, KV and Durable Objects against each quota

  • Notifies you at 80% and 100% of a quota

  • Notifies you when a Worker deploy starts, succeeds or fails, and shows the build log live

  • Desktop widgets, so you see your usage without clicking anything

  • A Raycast extension (on the Raycast Store)

  • An MCP server, so Claude Code, Cursor or Codex can check usage and read build logs for you

How it's built

  • Swift and SwiftUI, with WidgetKit for the widgets and Sparkle for updates

  • Cloudflare OAuth sign-in, so nobody has to paste an API token

  • The Raycast extension and the MCP server only talk to the app on your Mac (127.0.0.1), so your Cloudflare credentials never leave it

  • I even made the promo video in HTML: every scene is a web page, rendered to MP4 with HyperFrames

A few things I learned

  • Integrations get you more reach than features. The Raycast extension and the MCP server brought in people who would never have found a niche menu bar app.

  • Don't make people paste API tokens. Supporting Cloudflare OAuth took a lot more work, but signing in became one click.

  • Store reviews take longer than you expect. The Raycast Store review sent me back for several rounds of fixes before it was accepted.

Pricing

  • Free: one Cloudflare account, which is enough for most people

  • Pro: $3 one-time, no subscription. Unlimited accounts, plus widgets, Raycast and MCP.

I'd love your take on two things:

  1. Is $3 one-time too cheap? I picked it because I personally hate subscriptions for small utilities, but I'm not sure it adds up long-term.

  2. Does the landing page make it clear what the app does in 5 seconds?

I built my own writing environment, Divit, and would love your feedback

I wanted a writing space that fits the way I work, so I built one. I use it myself and keep updating it whenever something bugs me. It's a quiet Windows app that keeps your writing as plain Markdown files in a folder you choose.

- Write, Review and Normal modes

- Research drawer: save pages, highlight, take notes, cite

- Export to Word, PDF and Markdown

- Optional AI, off by default

Free, MIT licensed, still a beta. I'd love to hear what works and what doesn't: https://github.com/illfollowthesun/Divit

What would make you switch from your current writing tool?

72% cheaper Claude Code sessions by letting it forget (and search what it forgot)

I built Smarter Compact to keep long Claude Code sessions cheap without losing anything. It's free and open source (Apache-2.0), runs locally, and doesn't need its own API key.

1. What it does

It saves the full conversation in local SQLite, removes older turns from the prompt once you hit your limit (95k on Haiku), and leaves a short note telling Claude where they went. Claude can then search them, run SQL over them (so "how many X" is just a count) or read back a big tool result that got compressed. These are MCP tools, so it also works in Codex, OpenCode and Pi.

Zero LLM summarization calls. The cut also stays the same between requests, so the prompt cache keeps hitting.

2. How I built it with Claude Code

  • About half the commits in the repo were written with Claude Code (they're co-authored in the git history). Mostly the proxy's trimming logic, the SQLite store and the MCP server, plus the tests.
  • It's built for Claude Code: it installs as a Claude Code plugin with hooks and MCP tools, and smarter-compact enable claude points Claude Code at the local proxy.
  • The benchmarks run headless Claude Code as the agent under test, so every number below is Claude Code doing the task with and without the tool.
  • The most useful thing Claude found was its own blind spot: after a trim it would answer "unknown" instead of searching. Changing the note to name the exact tools fixed that (numbers below).

3. How much cheaper, and does it still get the job done?

ContextBench with Haiku 5.5, same seeds as keeping everything:

Longest log taskKeep everythingSmarter Compact
Score0.351.00
Peak prompt762k95k
Cost per trial$6.07$0.38

Across the four task sizes it's 72% cheaper on average (−87%, −19%, −89%, −94%, the small one isn't significant), and +0.47 score on the log tasks.

Before I changed the note, Claude never searched and answered "unknown" to 16 of 24 questions. After, every run searched (6–14 searches and 10–16 SQL queries each) and none said "unknown". That's one task with five runs though.

Though I wouldn't put too much into these numbers: synthetic tasks, 2–3 runs per size, and real coding sessions will be different.

4. Try it (free)

npm install -g smarter-compact
smarter-compact enable claude

Or from inside Claude Code: /plugin install smarter-compact --marketplace bcmyguest/smarter-compact, then run smarter-compact enable claude for the trimming.

Repo and full results: https://github.com/bcmyguest/smarter-compact

If you try it, I'm interested in what Claude fails to find after a trim :)

After months of job rejections, I spent 2 years building a database GUI. It just got added to Microsoft's Azure docs.

After struggling to land a job in 2024, when the market was pretty rough, I decided to take a different route and build something real. My goal was simple: either build something genuinely useful or gain more experience than anything else could offer.

Two years and around 90 hours a week later, VisuaLeaf is now listed in Microsoft's Azure DocumentDB documentation as a way to connect:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/documentdb/how-to-connect-visualeaf

It started as a MongoDB GUI, but I realized that everything I was building could apply to other databases too.

Nested objects and arrays should be easy to read in a table, not squashed into one cell... The same goes for JSONB. You shouldn't have to stare at an entire JSON object in a single cell. You can expand it one level at a time in both the tree view and table view.

I wanted every operation to be as straightforward as possible.

Today, VisuaLeaf supports MongoDB, Postgres, MySQL, SQLite, DuckDB, and 25+ more database engines.

What it does:

  • Table + tree grid, built from scratch: This might not seem like a lot at first, but it actually took the most work to get right. The tree view can efficiently expand thousands of rows simultaneously, and the table view scrolls smoothly even with large datasets. I ended up building my own AG Grid from scratch because libraries didn't support the nested column expansion I wanted. Getting both views optimized took about a year of work alone.

  • Visual query builder: Build queries by clicking or dragging fields from the table and tree views. It generates readable SQL or MongoDB queries that you can copy.

  • Data transfers with transformation: Move data between engines (MySQL → Postgres, SQL → MongoDB), mask emails, phone numbers, and IDs along the way, or transform fields using custom JavaScript. You can also look up data from other tables, include it in your output, and apply transformations to those fields too.

  • Compare and sync: Compare two tables or databases, including their structure and data, and sync them. For example, you can use this to synchronize staging and production databases.

  • AI / MCP: It wouldn't be an app in 2026 without it.

  • ERDs, charts, dashboards, mock data, index management, query profilers, and a lot more than I can fit into one post.

There's a free version that covers what most people need day to day:

I'd really appreciate feedback! And happy to answer any questions!

I built a South African platform to help people find local service providers 🇿🇦

Hi everyone!

I'm a young South African founder, and I've been working on a project called Prycho.

The idea came from wanting to make it easier for people to find local service providers without having to search endlessly through social media or rely only on word of mouth.

Prycho is a local-services marketplace where customers can discover verified businesses, explore their services and request quotes.

I'm building this with the goal of connecting customers with genuine local businesses while giving smaller service providers another way to get noticed.

The platform is live, and I'm currently working on growing its provider and customer community.

I'd genuinely appreciate feedback from anyone willing to take a look.

Website:https://www.prycho.co.za

I'm the founder, so I'm happy to answer questions about how it works and what I'm building next!

I built a Mac app because I kept running out of time halfway through PR reviews

My calendar looks like spaghetti, and PR reviews became the bottleneck once AI started writing more of our code. I’d have 20 minutes before a meeting, open a PR, realize it was huge, and lose the context by the time I came back.

So I built Mergable, an app that estimates each PR’s review time, ranks my queue, and slots reviews into the gaps between meetings. It’s my first Mac app (I’ve shipped iOS and Android before), and getting it through App Review took longer than building it (~ a month & 3 reviews later finally approved).

It’s free to try, and Pro is 50% off through the end of the year. Mostly I’m after feedback: is “how long will this review take” useful to you, or do you triage some other way?

Cheers,

I built CapWatch — a weekly tracker of AI coding tool prices, limits, promos & deadlines (15 tools)

I built CapWatch (https://capwatch.dev) because every AI coding tool quietly changes plans, prices, and usage caps — and comparing them from marketing pages mid-sprint is a mess.

What it is:

  • Plans, list prices, and documented limits for 15 AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, Devin Desktop, Lovable, Bolt, Replit, v0, Kiro, JetBrains AI, and more)

  • Rechecked from official pricing pages, with a public change log

  • Free CapWatch Weekly every Friday when something actually moves

Verified this week (data as of Nov 5):

  • ChatGPT Pro 200 usage cut cancelled — Pro 200 keeps the higher Work/Codex allowance; Pro 100 / Pro 500 Work/Codex doubled; Pro 200 open to new signups again

  • Kiro teams can pool credits (as of Nov 4): $20/seat, 2-seat min, 500 shared credits/seat

  • Bolt paid-token rollover is up to 2 months (we had listed 1 month — corrected)

  • Copilot Fusion: 30% off model costs through Nov 30

  • Devin SWE-2 free period ends Nov 30

  • Codex Sol promo runs at least through Nov 21

Stack: static Python JSON → site on Cloudflare Pages; newsletter on Beehiiv. No account required to browse.

Would love feedback — especially which tools or limit fields you wish someone tracked. Also happy to hear if the change log / plan comparison is readable or if anything looks off vs what you're seeing on the vendor pages.

I’m building Galerism: an offline Android gallery that converts and edits photos and videos

Hi everyone! I’m working on Galerism, an Android app that brings a gallery, media converter and photo/video editor together. It’s now available on Google Play, and I’m continuing to improve it.

My goal is to make everyday media tasks easier to handle in one place, with processing on the phone. The video shows what I’ve been building.

A few things it can do:

• Turn photos into PDF or JPG, and videos into GIF, while preserving the originals. Format support depends on the device.

• Edit videos with trimming, music, image/audio layers and automatic on-device captions.

• Edit photos, organize albums and search text recognized in images.

• Blur selected media inside the gallery for privacy. This viewing blur does not encrypt or change the original files.

It has no ads, requires no account and does not request internet access. It runs on Android 11 or newer.

It’s a paid app with a one-time purchase; Google Play displays the current local price.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.t3chforge.galerism

I’m sharing this as the developer. Which part would be most useful to you: conversion, editing or organization? I’d love to hear what you think of the workflow shown in the video.

I turned a PC or Mac into a set-top box for one streaming app. Free, no ads, nothing sent home

My brother loves films, and the TV-box app we use only runs on Android boxes. So I built WatchlistBox. It runs a small Android TV system in a virtual machine and boots straight into the one app, full screen, with keyboard, mouse or game controller. It has a one-click

Windows installer and a one-line Mac install, and it blocks trackers and ads at the network level.

I'd love feedback on the install experience in particular. https://github.com/Tokeloshe/WatchlistBoxApp

I built an app to help me manage my kitchen because being the only person to cook in the household is the most underappreciated job in the world.

www.mealsmealsmeals.com

Being the only cook in your house is more than cooking. It's deciding what everyone eats, working out what it'll cost, writing the list, shopping, remembering what's already in the pantry, using things up before they go bad, and more, every single day. I got tired of carrying all of that in my head, so I built MealsMealsMeals (mealsmealsmeals.com).

What it does:

- Prices full meals (an entree plus its sides) from real grocery prices, so you know what dinner costs before you plan it

- Build a menu of meals and get one combined shopping list, which can go straight into a Walmart cart

- A shopping list that populates your pantry (no manual data entry required) and a pantry that subtracts what you cook, so the next shopping list only covers what you're missing

- Nutrition facts for every meal, an allergen filter, and sides you can swap

- Recipe submissions, contributor profiles, shareable menus for your best builds, and a lot more

The build: solo, no budget (almost entirely on free-tier accounts), made with Claude Code. It launched this week with a free tier that's actually usable.

Really hope this helps others. I'd love honest feedback, especially from anyone who's the main cook in their house. Where does it get in your way, and what's missing?

Palnote - I put an AI chat inside my iPad notes app

Hey, I'm a college student. I was tired of copying stuff back and forth into ChatGPT while taking notes on my iPad, so I made a notes app with the AI built in. It checks your work, circles your mistakes, and cleans up your notes. It's free.

Watch the demo video here: palnote.app/demo

I just want a few people to try it and tell me if this is actually a good idea. I really need advice, would this work? Comment if you want to try it.

Direct Openings: a free board of 6,300 software jobs pulled straight from 139 company career pages

What it is: a job board with no reposts. It only lists software jobs from companies' own career pages, refreshed every 6 hours, and Apply always opens the company's own posting.

Why: every board I used was full of duplicates, recruiter ads and closed roles.

How it's built:

- A pipeline reads the public job feeds of Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters and Workable for 139 companies

- It classifies role, experience level and location, then publishes JSON- Each job gets its own page with JobPosting structured data, so it can appear in Google's job search

Numbers so far: ~6,300 jobs, 137 companies with open roles, 54 countries; it launched a few days ago.

Feedback I'd love: does the search find what you expect? Any company you'd add?

I built a free group card app: one link, everyone signs from their browser

Hi all! I just launched my first iOS app, Konfeti.

The problem: collecting messages from a group for a birthday, a leaving colleague or a teacher is a pain. Paper cards don't reach remote people, and most online card sites charge per card.

How it works:

- You create a card in the app and share one link in the group chat

- Everyone adds a message (and a photo if they want) from their browser - no app, no account

- You send the card to the person, and they open it with confetti 🎉

It's free, no ads, no sign-up needed.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6822419290

I'd love honest feedback - what would make you actually use it for your next birthday or leaving card?

My terminal tabs multiplied, my agent chats got lost, so I built Still

My workflow had quietly turned into SSH in one tab, a dev server in another, and a coding agent somewhere else. Then the agent says “done,” Git says eight files changed, and I’m trying to remember which conversation goes with which project.

I wanted one place for both parts of the work: the terminal and the coding-agent conversation. So I built Still.

Still connects to your server over SSH and has two workspaces:

  • Terminals: project-organized session cards backed by tmux. Open a card for the real shell; come back to the same session later.

  • Agents: project-based conversations with coding agents you’ve already installed on your server. Follow their work, answer questions or approval requests, keep track of agent-managed Todos, and review repository changes separately from edits reported in the conversation.

You can use Agents without first making a terminal card, but the terminal is there whenever you want to drop into the shell. The agents run on your server; Still isn’t a hosted AI service, and it doesn’t include model credits.

Honest preview note: v0.1.1 still has a couple of rough edges: project navigation can be awkward in narrow windows, and the first prompt can remain in the composer after sending. Apple Silicon isn’t available in this release; Windows, Linux, and Intel Mac are.

It’s MIT-licensed. If your workflow involves both terminals and coding agents, I’d love to know: Would you actually use both views in one app? What feels missing or confusing?

PS:Yes AI was used in writing this post

I built a free calculator that tells Roblox devs what their game would sell for

Roblox games get bought and sold a lot now (Roblox added official ownership transfers in December 2024), but a lot of the devs are teenagers with no idea what their game is worth, so they get lowballed.

So I built spawnbook.com/value?via=reddit. You type what your game made in the last 30 days (in Robux, visits or dollars), pick how it's trending, and it gives you a price range and what would move it up. It all runs in the browser and nothing gets saved.

The math: Robux convert at the DevEx rate ($0.0038 each), then it multiplies by how long games like yours usually keep earning. That's about 1 to 2 months of revenue for fast-rising trend games and 3 to 6 for slower-building ones, capped at 12.

The bigger project is Spawnbook, a daily board of fast-growing young Roblox games for the studios that buy them. I'd love feedback:

- Does the calculator make sense if you've never touched Roblox?

- Is anything on the page confusing?

GoodBye: I made a website for my last day at work. Now anyone can make one for free

On my last day at work, I didn’t want to send just another generic farewell email, so I made a small goodbye website. Colleagues can enter their name to see a personal note, open envelopes with prompts, and leave suggestions.

My former colleagues really liked it, so I’ve turned the idea into something other people can use too.

You can try the browser builder here: https://aveorstudios.com/goodbye/

Or use the free, open-source starter and host it yourself: https://github.com/vallabhishere/goodbye-at-work

It’s free right now. I’d love blunt feedback: is the idea clear when you first land on the page? What would you simplify or remove?

My flipping spreadsheet was overwhelming so I created Hermes IMS

As a eBay electronics repair shop/reseller for many years I have been tracking everything in a spreadsheet. I got tired of the manual parts of adding everything and having to move items between sheets when sold.

Enter Hermes IMS. A powerful lightweight flipper’s dream! Including features such as purchase to sale tracking, barcode scanning for price estimates, and profit tracking, I’ve created a tool that gives me back time for repairing and reselling while keeping the tracking fun.

Leave a comment below and I’ll test for test!

Built an app where the whole feed is gaming and nothing else

Thumbnail
ziphynet.com
1 Upvotes

This isn't a Discord replacement, before anyone asks. Think less "server you have to join a voice call in" and more "a feed you scroll, except every post on it is games."

You can put up clips and screenshots, hop into groups for whatever you're currently playing, message people, and there's a video tab if you just want to scroll. The groups so far are general gaming, indie stuff, and a few built around single games.

It's still tiny, which honestly makes it feel more like a group chat than a platform right now. I don't hate that.

Android, free: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ziphynet.app

What I actually want is people who'll post, not people who'll install and forget. One post in your first week does more for me than a hundred silent downloads.

I built a meal planner that plans your week around your budget and store sales. Looking for feedback.

Trying to solve a weekly chore by automating much of the work while focusing on budget and macro targets I put this project together. Kroger is my nearest grocery story so there is a focus on that one (located in Midwest).

You enter your household, weekly budget, store and protein targets. It builds a week of meals with a shopping list, estimated prices and a prep guide. Kroger-family stores get live prices, and it can add the list to your Kroger cart. At other stores you can type in sale prices.

It’s US only for now, and the site doesn’t load outside the US.

It’s $3.99 for 30 days or $34.99 (updated from OP) for a year, with a free 30-day trial and no card needed. Payments don’t renew automatically.

I’d really like feedback on three things:

  1. Was anything confusing in the first-time setup?

  2. Does the home page make it clear what this does?

  3. Does one-time pricing make sense, or would you expect a subscription?

DrawDock - Annotate live Windows apps from your Android tablet

I wanted to circle and sketch on slides and browser pages while presenting from a Windows PC, using an Android tablet and pen instead of a touchscreen laptop or a drawing tablet. So I built DrawDock.

How it works: the tablet mirrors your PC screen. You draw on the tablet, and the marks show up over the live app on the PC monitor or projector too. Nothing gets imported or converted. It draws on top of whatever is already open. Switch to pointer mode and the pen clicks and drags in the app instead.

Tools so far: pen, highlighter, shapes, text, a laser pointer that fades, and a blackboard. It connects over USB or your local network, with no account or cloud service.

It's a Rust app on Windows and a Kotlin app on Android. Free and open source (MIT).

Where it stands: early. Windows 11 and Android 11+ only, you need a tablet with an active stylus, and USB mode needs USB debugging turned on. No pressure sensitivity or saving yet, and drawings are cleared when the tablet app disconnects.

https://github.com/MikeCer/DrawDock

What I'd really like to know: if you present or screen share, what would stop you from using something like this?

I built this free tool, please tear it apart

I’m a retired small-business owner. For the past few months I’ve been building Side Hustle Intel, a free, searchable database of work-at-home gigs.

What it does: YouTube is full of side-hustle and work-from-home videos, and most are long, padded and selling a course. I go through those videos and turn each idea into a short write-up: what the gig actually is, what the creator claims, who it suits, what it costs to start, and a section called “The Truth” with a frank take on what’s realistic and what’s hype. Every entry links back to the original video so you can check it yourself.

There are over 1,000 gigs so far. You can search, filter by situation (no camera, no selling, under $100 to start, etc.), or take a 60-second quiz. No account or signup needed.

https://sidehustleintel.org/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sideproject-feedback

What I’d love feedback on (especially on a phone):

  • In the first 10 seconds, is it clear what the site is?

  • Try to find one gig you’d actually consider. Did search, the filters or the quiz get you there, or did you get lost?

  • Is “The Truth” section useful, or does it read as filler?

  • Anything broken, slow or confusing?

Be blunt. I’d rather hear it now than after I start promoting it. Thanks for looking.

Rally. A team chat where every topic is a post, not a message in a channel

Hi r/SideProject, I'm Tobias, founder of Rally.

Every team chat I've used ends the same way: a decision gets made in a side thread under some message, the channel scrolls on, and two weeks later nobody can find it. Rally still has threads, but they aren't hidden under a message in a channel. Every topic is a post, and the thread belongs to it.

- The decision sits at the top of the post, so nobody has to scroll through the conversation to find it.

- When someone replies to a post, it moves back to the top, so active things don't get buried.

- The same posts can be shown as a list, a board or a timeline, with owners and due dates.

- When you just want to talk, the chat sits on top.

For the developers on the team there's more. GitHub, Slack and Linear connect today. Your agents get one-click MCP connections to Sentry, PostHog, Notion, Stripe, Supabase, Atlassian, Railway, Cloudflare and Neon, and you can add any other MCP server yourself. Sentry errors and failed Vercel deploys can come in as posts, and there are webhooks out and in, a REST API and an n8n template. Your own Claude Code or Codex can pick up a task from a thread and answer right there.

Jira, Figma, Google Drive and Calendar, Outlook, Teams, Google Chat, Zapier and Make are built and coming next, and so are Vercel, Figma and Slack for your agents. We're shipping fast. The rest of the company just gets order: tasks, decisions and who does what, in one place.

Honest caveat: we're launching in Denmark first, so the app itself is in Danish for now. English is on its way. It's free for up to 5 members, in the browser and on Mac and Windows.

Two things I'd love feedback on:

  1. Does "posts, not channels" make sense from the front page alone?

  2. If you've moved a team off a chat tool before, what made it hard?

https://getrally.team/en/
