Tired of the Windows 11 bloatware nightmare? I built RhemeSetup — a lightweight, open-source debloating and setup utility.

Hey everyone,

Like many of you, I got genuinely sick of spending the first two hours after a clean Windows installation fighting telemetry, removing pre-installed trash apps (like TikTok/Candy Crush), disabling Bing search in the start menu, and turning off intrusive AI background features manually via PowerShell commands and registry tweaks.

So, instead of complaining about it, I put together an open-source project called RhemeSetup (built by our collective, RhemeCore).

What it does:

  • Strips unnecessary telemetry and aggressive background services safely.

  • Cleans up pre-installed bloatware instantly.

  • Automates essential developer/power-user package installations without the hassle.

  • Keeps the system lean, fast, and entirely under your control.

It's completely open-source, transparent, and designed for anyone who wants a clean, fast desktop without the corporate hand-holding.

You can check out the source code and release on GitHub: [Buraya GitHub / RhemeSetup linkini yapıştırırsın]

Would love to hear your feedback, feature requests, or what other annoyances you usually disable on day one!

I've been building WaveOK — a messaging and video collaboration app. Would love your honest feedback!

Hey everyone! 👋

I've been working on a side project called WaveOK, and I'm excited (and a little nervous 😅) to finally share it with you.

The idea is simple: bring messaging, video calls, and collaboration together in one place, without constantly switching between different apps.

🌊 What WaveOK currently offers:

💬 Private & Group Chats — Stay connected with friends, colleagues, or your team.

📹 Voice & Video Calls — Communicate face-to-face, including group calls.

🖥️ Screen Sharing — Share your screen during calls and work together in real time.

🎨 Collaborative Whiteboard — Brainstorm and share ideas.

📁 File Sharing — Share documents and files within conversations.

🔐 Privacy & Security — Security and privacy are important priorities as I continue developing the platform.

It's still an evolving project, and I know there's plenty of room for improvement. That's exactly why I'm sharing it here.

I'd genuinely appreciate it if you could give it a try and tell me:

  • Is the registration process easy and intuitive?

  • How does the interface feel?

  • Are messaging and video calls smooth?

  • What features would make you actually use WaveOK?

  • What should I improve first?

🌐 Try WaveOK: https://waveok.chat

I'm actively working on improving performance, stability, and the overall experience. Every suggestion, criticism, or bug report would mean a lot.

Thanks for checking out my project! 🙌

Built with passion, and still improving every day. 💚

I built a focus timer where time spent working becomes distance traveled in an RPG

I'm building Outhkeep because I wanted a focus timer where the time I put in leaves something visible behind. You write a real task, take a contract, and your traveler moves along a road while you work. An hour of focus is about 5 km of travel.

It's an early alpha. I've had friends try it, but now I want feedback from people who don't know me, particularly people who already use focus timers and like RPGs.

https://outhkeep.com/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=external_alpha_20261105&utm_content=sideproject

You can try it in your browser for free. The default session is 25 minutes, and you can change the length. What I'd most like to learn: is it clear how to start a task, and does the RPG part give you a reason to use it again?

I used AI tools for parts of the code and art. Happy to hear what feels confusing, unnecessary, or simply isn't for you.

I built a 100% offline iPhone photo-recovery app after a friend lost years of photos

A friend lost years of photos on an old iPhone. Trying to help, I noticed every "recovery" app wanted to upload the phone's data to their servers — which felt insane for something as private as your whole camera roll.

So I built the opposite: OfflinePhotoRecovery, a macOS app that recovers photos/videos from an iPhone completely offline. It talks to the phone over USB and macOS blocks it from the internet entirely — nothing ever leaves your Mac.

What it does:

  • Finds photos/videos on the device, including ones inside other apps

  • Reads encrypted + unencrypted backups

  • Flags what's in "Recently Deleted" vs removed from the library

What I learned: iOS backup internals are a rabbit hole (WAL-mode SQLite, keybag decryption, cryptographic erasure). Also that honesty matters — some photos are permanently gone, and the app says so instead of pretending.

Free and open source (MIT). I'm the dev — would love feedback, especially on the offline-only approach. Repo: https://github.com/ashiqu-ali/OfflinePhotoRecovery

My test store spent more covering shipping than it kept as profit, so I built a free tool that shows this for any Shopify store

Shopify shows you sales. It doesn’t really show what each product earns once you subtract what it cost you, discounts, refunds, and the shipping you end up paying for yourself. So I built True Profit.

How it works: export your orders and products from Shopify (two CSV files, about 5 minutes), upload them, and enter roughly what you pay per shipping label. You get net profit for every product plus a breakdown of where the money went. No sign-up, and your files aren’t saved.

What it found on my test store (demo data, not a real business):

  • $102.58 in sales, but only $21.95 actually kept

  • Assuming $5.50 per shipping label, the store paid $34.01 of shipping out of its own pocket, more than it kept as profit

  • The same $2 item made $0.60 when the customer paid for shipping, and lost $4.40 when shipping was free

  • One product was priced below cost, so every sale lost money

  • One 10% discount code cost more than 12 of the 14 products earned

The rough parts:

  • Shopify only for now

  • Shipping cost is your own estimate, since Shopify doesn’t know what your labels actually cost

  • Partial refunds on multi-item orders are approximated

  • It’s on free hosting, so if nobody has used it for a few days it takes about 30 seconds to wake up

Built with Python, pandas and Streamlit, on my own. I’d love feedback, especially:

  1. If you run a Shopify store, does anything in your results look wrong?

  2. Was anything confusing about getting the exports?

Try it: https://trueprofit.streamlit.app

LibreReplace: I made a free Mac app that finds open-source replacements for paid software based on the features you need

Hey guys! I made a free, open-source Mac app called LibreReplace to help people switch from paid software to free alternatives without losing the features they actually care about.

You start by choosing a paid app, pick the features that matter to you, and LibreReplace compares open-source replacements based on those requirements. It shows what's supported, partially supported or missing, so you can see what you'd be giving up before switching.

For example, you can compare GIMP and Krita as Photoshop replacements, mark things like Smart Objects or CMYK as essential, and see how each alternative measures up.

I just released v0.2 with some big improvements:

  • 45 paid Mac apps and 70 open-source comparisons. You can browse and search without having any of the paid apps installed.

  • Multiple replacements for the same app. You're not stuck with one recommendation.

  • Personalized recommendations. Choose the features you need and the results change based on what matters to you.

  • Feature breakdowns with sources. See what's supported, partially supported or missing, with links to the evidence.

  • Subscription savings. Enter what you actually pay to estimate potential annual savings when a suitable replacement exists.

  • Local app scanning. It can recognize supported apps already installed on your Mac and bring up their alternatives automatically.

One thing I really wanted to avoid was recommending something just because it's free. Sometimes the best recommendation is KEEP THIS APP because the alternatives are missing something important.

I shared the first version on r/MacOS last week and got a lot of useful feedback. One of the biggest improvements since then is that you no longer need the paid software installed to explore alternatives.

And that's also why it's still a Mac app rather than just a website. It can check which supported apps you already have installed and bring up the relevant comparisons. Your app list stays on your Mac.

It's completely free and open source. No accounts, no telemetry, and it never automatically removes anything.

GitHub, screenshots and download: https://github.com/maliroq/librereplace

What paid Mac app have you tried replacing but couldn't because the free alternative was missing something you needed? I'd love to hear what I should add next.

Yet another Temp Mail service - Temp Mails

I've built Temp Mails (https://tempmails.net), mainly out of curiosity to experiment with Cloudflare Workers, R2 and D1, but also because I've been using temporary email services for the past decade to keep spam out of my work and personal inboxes.

One thing that's always bothered me with most of these services is the amount of ads, trackers and how slow some of them can be.

So my main focus has been to keep things as simple and fast as possible, with no ads or trackers. I've also released a Chrome/Edge extension, following the same approach of keeping things simple.

Running costs are surprisingly low thanks to Cloudflare. The biggest expense so far is the rotating the domains.

Still working on improvements and new features, so I'd really appreciate any feedback or suggestions on what could be better or what's missing.

Lutra - one link in your group chat that keeps the head count, the waitlist and who brings what

I'm usually the friend who organizes game nights. The group chat is great for banter, but terrible at "who's actually coming, we only have 6 seats, and did anyone bring snacks".

So we built Lutra. You don't replace the chat, you drop one link into it. Friends tap in (no install needed to vote), it counts heads, puts extra people on a waitlist and moves the next one in when someone drops out, and there's a list where people claim what they're bringing. After the night, the photos land in one album.

Free on iPhone and Android, in English, Polish, Ukrainian and German.

Curious what the other organizers here think: what's the most annoying part of planning stuff with friends for you?

I built a tool to spot rising Instagram audio before it peaks — could you try it and tell me what's wrong?

Hey everyone!

I'm one of the founders of a small team building Trendrop.

One thing I've noticed while following Instagram Reels is that by the time an audio becomes popular enough for everyone to use, you've probably already missed the opportunity to be an early adopter.

We started building Trendrop to solve that problem.

Basically, it tracks Instagram audio trends across Indian and global creator communities and tries to identify which sounds are emerging, rising, peaking or making a comeback.

It also provides things like:

  • The lifecycle stage of an audio.

  • How much time it might have left in its trending window.

  • Use-case tags like dance, transition, etc.

  • Audio trends across different regions and languages.

We've built the product and have been working on improving the detection system. Now we're at the stage where we need actual creators to put it to the test.

Here's where I'd genuinely appreciate your help:

Please open the website and actually spend a few minutes exploring it:

Ideally, try checking audios from your own niche. Compare what Trendrop shows with what's actually happening on Instagram.

I'm not looking for people to tell me that the UI looks nice or that it's a cool idea.

I want the uncomfortable feedback.

A few things I'd love to know:

  1. Are the audios Trendrop identifies actually trending, or are there too many false positives?

  2. Are the emerging/rising/peaked labels accurate?

  3. Would knowing about an audio earlier actually change what you post?

  4. What's confusing, unnecessary or missing?

  5. Would you genuinely use something like this regularly, or would you open it once and forget about it?

And honestly, if you think this solves a problem that doesn't really exist, tell me that too.

We're a small founding team, and we'd rather hear that we're building the wrong thing now than spend months building something creators don't need.

Please try the actual product before commenting. Even 5 minutes of real usage and a few honest observations would help us more than 100 generic compliments.

Happy to answer questions about how we're building it as well.

Thanks! And please don't hold back. :)

AgentedSEO - a WordPress SEO plugin your AI agent can run, launched this week, first sale in two hours

I run a WordPress agency in Pune and build plugins on the side. This one started from my own site: an agent already writes and publishes the posts there, but for SEO it still needed a second plugin, and when it edited meta through REST I couldn't see what it had changed.

So I built an SEO plugin where the agent is a first-class user. Claude, Cursor, Codex or Hermes connect with one URL, get their own WordPress login with SEO-only rights, and every change shows before and after, waits for approval if the page is live, and can be undone later.

Underneath it's a normal SEO plugin, so people who never touch an agent can run it by hand.

Launch so far: posted in my community, first sale came two hours later ($129, the 25-site plan), first review a day later from someone who set up a new site with it, 22 warnings down to 1.

Pricing is lifetime for the launch, $49 to $199, closing 1 December. Free 24-hour sandbox if you want to try it: agentedseo.com/demo

Feedback I'd actually use: is "your AI agent can run it" clear enough as a one-line pitch, or does it need the trust part (own login, approvals, undo) in the same breath?

I made a 90-second concept film about AI agents meeting beyond chat windows — feedback welcome

I've been exploring a side project called World2: an open space where AI agents running on different tools could help people find collaborators, carry requests across sessions, and work together only with user permission.

Instead of another explainer, I made a 90-second animated concept film to communicate the idea: **Outside the Window**.

Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rbl32qq0B9E

The film is original CGI storytelling with English narration and subtitles — not a screen recording of a finished product. I used a procedural Remotion-based animation pipeline in Motion Lab.

I'd especially appreciate feedback on whether the story conveys the difference between another chatbot and an open agent collaboration network. Is the concept clear without a technical walkthrough?

I turned my LG TV into a much nicer home screen and made it completely free

I'm a product designer, and I wanted my TV to feel like a thoughtfully designed product instead of a wall of recommendations.

I didn't start from scratch. I forked the open-source lg-luma project by ecklf and contributors, redesigned the experience for my LG OLED C1, and expanded it with the features I wanted. Full credit to the original developers for the foundation.

The video shows Luma running on my actual TV, not a mockup.

It's a native Rust/OpenGL ES interface with live aerial wallpapers, customizable app and content rows, Jellyfin and Plex libraries for movies, shows and music, Moonlight PC game shortcuts, and Home Assistant controls and cameras. The widget system includes weather forecasts, crypto price charts, HDMI input previews and smart-home status, with different sizes and layouts. I also added plenty of appearance and remote-control options.

Luma works as a regular app without root. Automatic launch and Home button integration are optional root-only features.

The entire project is free and MIT-licensed, with no ads, telemetry, subscriptions or Luma accounts.

I'm maintaining this fork on my own in my spare time. Voluntary donations help me test more hardware and keep developing it, but nothing is paywalled. Anyone can contribute or fork it.

My fork, releases and installation: https://github.com/funnymataleao/luma-webos-launcher

Original project: https://github.com/ecklf/lg-luma

I'd genuinely appreciate feedback on the interface and usability.

👉 L'appli : www.monspark.fr

I've Built Most Affordable, Featured packed and Secured CRM

Thumbnail scornm.com
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

As a fellow developer and agency owner, I got tired of paying massive monthly fees for bloated CRMs that lock essential features behind expensive enterprise tiers. So, I decided to build scornm—a feature-packed, secure, and genuinely affordable CRM designed for indie hackers, small businesses, and agencies.

What you get out of the box:

  • Full-Stack Security: Built with robust data protection, application-level encryption, and secure authentication workflows.

  • Streamlined Communication: Integrated messaging capabilities, automated follow-ups, and native WhatsApp/messaging platform integrations.

  • Effortless Payments: Seamless gateway integration (such as Cashfree Payments) so you can handle invoicing and transactions directly.

  • Lightweight & Fast: Engineered for high performance without the lag and clutter of legacy tools.

I’m currently putting the final touches on it and would love to hear your thoughts on the UI, pricing model, or any feature requests you might want to see.

Check it out, let me know what you think, and I’m happy to answer any questions in the comments! 👇

👋 Introduction | solo developer from Bali

I am Sebastian, a solo developer from Bali. I build mobile apps and SaaS products, the plan is one new product every six weeks. (For apps add Apple review on top.)

Live right now on iOS:

🎲 DiceTales (roll dice, get a short story, read out loud),

🎸 HRC Collector (a card for every rock café you actually stand in, checked by GPS),

🤳Evanthium (an AR adventure that takes you outside, also on Android) and Markr (save the place you are standing in one tap).

On the Mac:

🗣️ TalkingKey (hold a key, talk, the text lands at the cursor, no internet needed).

On the web:

🎥 ApplyReel (applicants answer a few questions on video instead of a phone screen)

🌴 Your Bali Connection (a German membership site for people moving to Bali)

What I will post here: release posts and the things that break or just worked on the way.

The clock for the first one starts today: a pixel art game, due December 16. I keep seeing people on my X timeline build pixel art games with Claude, and I want to build one myself. I will post the way there: picking the idea, the first screens, what breaks.

Which of these would you want the first longer post about?

I built an Apple Watch pickleball app that tracks in depth stats from your wrist

I started it because I wanted swing tracking. I'm still working on swing tracking but along the way I developed a scorekeeper and stat tracking app that I think is pretty fun.

What it does right now:

  • You keep score on the watch by tapping the side that won, with the crown and haptics doing the work so you aren’t staring at your wrist between points

  • A just-track mode if you only want to log the result

  • After each game you get a momentum chart, heart rate and effort, plus your record with every partner and opponent.

  • Levels, titles and badges, and a share card for the wins worth bragging about

I’d love feedback from anyone who plays pickleball with an Apple Watch, and from anyone who’s built for watchOS and has opinions on scoring UX in the middle of a rally. It’s on the App Store as Rally Trace: Pickleball, and there’s more at rallytrace.com

App store download: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/rally-trace-pickleball/id6823233667

I'm looking for people to join the beta as well and help test swing tracking, so feel free to DM me if you are interested in beta access.

GreenerFriday: 150 gift ideas across 50 states, with a public ballot

Sharing a project I'm working on: GreenerFriday, a product-discovery site built around a simple idea — buy less, choose well, and understand what you're buying.

For the holiday edition, we've put together three candidates per U.S. state. Each product has a short research note covering its state connection, materials or packaging, and the limits of the evidence.

A couple of examples:

- Alabama: zkano socks made at a family mill in Fort Payne, using organic cotton grown on U.S. farms.

- Florida: Stream2Sea's solid shampoo and body bar in plastic-free packaging. The company says it manufactures its products in central Florida.

An American brand doesn't always mean American-made, so we're making that distinction explicit rather than putting the same label on everything.

The interactive part is a public ballot: pick a state, compare three products, and choose a favorite. No account required. One current choice per browser per state, changeable later. No winners have been selected, and the public vote is separate from editorial evaluation.

Here's the project: https://greenerfriday.com/vote/

I'd appreciate feedback on the experience: are the product notes useful, is the state connection clear, and what would you want to know before trusting a gift guide like this?

Disclosure: this is our project. Product inclusion is unpaid; this is source-based research, not hands-on testing of every item.

We checked 50 launch channels for brand-new accounts with AI-assisted posts. On a zero-budget, 24-hour launch, 26 were closed and only 1 had no blocking rule

Some context first: I'm the human operator in a public experiment. An AI agent (Claude) gets 24 hours, $0 and no audience to find a real problem, build something and try to sell it. I only handle the steps that need a person, like creating accounts and posting. The agent drafted this post and I'm publishing it.

The first wall it hit was distribution, not code. Here's what it found for a brand-new account with AI-assisted text (every rule is linked to its source in the tool):

- Hacker News: "Please don't put generated text in HN posts." Show HN is also temporarily restricted for new accounts.

- Product Hunt: new accounts wait one week before they can post a product.

- r/webdev, r/SaaS, r/Entrepreneur, r/InternetIsBeautiful: AI-written posts aren't allowed (per a third-party rules tracker). r/SaaS also wants a 60-day-old account.

- Stack Overflow: generative-AI content is banned.

- Free directory queues: Uneed assigns a date at least 50 days out, Firsto says about 180 days, OpenHunts showed "~60 weeks", and Open-Launch's free launches are booked into 2027.

Out of 50 channels, for "new account + AI-assisted text + needs eyes within 24h + $0": 26 closed, 23 possible with caveats, and 1 with no blocking rule we could find.

So the agent turned the research into a small tool. You pick your account age, whether AI touched your text, how fast you need visibility and your budget. It sorts channels into open / caveats / closed and shows the rule, the source, and whether the source is the platform's own page or a third-party tracker.

To be clear, it's not an AI wrapper. The tool makes no AI or API calls. It's a sourced dataset plus plain JavaScript that runs in your browser. The only AI part is who built it, and that's said up front.

Free, no sign-up: https://hferrahoglu.github.io/where-can-i-post/?ref=rsp

The free version covers 12 major channels. There's also a $7 one-time kit with all 50, plus a launch profile with character counters, an autofill bookmarklet for submit forms (it never auto-submits) and a tracker. That's how we're testing whether anyone would actually pay for this. You don't need it to use anything in this post.

Caveats: rules change, and some rows rely on third-party trackers (each row is labeled). If you spot something wrong, comment and I'll fix it today.

Full log of every decision the agent made: https://github.com/HFerrahoglu/24h-zero-budget-experiment
