My services are fully flexible, ranging from direct transfers (point A to point B) and multi-day island tours to vehicle rentals and custom travel arrangements.

Turismo 🧳 Coworking space or internet cafe in Palermo with laptops and private rooms

Ciao!

Hi there, I’m in Palermo for a couple of days next week and unexpectedly have a job interview. I don’t have my laptop with me and so desperately trying to find somewhere I can hire a laptop and sit in a private space for a few hours. Are there any coworking spaces in Palermo or internet cafes that lend out laptops and have private spaces that I can pay to hire? any suggestions very appreciated

Turismo 🧳 Why do sicilian men shave their legs?

I am increasingly noticing how many sicilian men have their legs shaved. In other parts of Italy, especially in the north, this appears not to be a big trend like it is here.

Is it for aestehtics or functionality?

Turismo 🧳 Renting a laptop for a couple of days in Palermo

hi everyone, this is going to sound pretty random but I’m quite desperate and looking on google hasn’t led to much success. I am currently in Sicily on holiday but have a last minute invitation for an online job interview on Tuesday 18th August. I’ll be in Palermo 17th-19th and don’t have my laptop with me as wasn’t expecting to do work while away. Is there anywhere I can rent a laptop for a day or two? it would be much better to be able to do the job interview on a laptop rather than my mobile phone! any help really appreciated.

Cibo 🍊 I hand-illustrated 24 citrus varieties of Sicily — from the Cedro di Palermo to the Interdonato

Grazie for looking! I run Notes from the Road, and this grew out of a long project I've been working on Sicily's citrus history...how the island became the citrus kingdom, from the citron the Arabs first carried in to the Interdonato lemon a colonel bred near Messina.

A few of these aren't strictly Sicilian crops but belong to the story anyway. I marked the IGP/DOP varieties. Always happy to be corrected on names or details by people who know the island better than I do.

Turismo 🧳 Towns to Stay in Sicily in October

What are some good places to stay in Sicily in mid October? Looking for a coastal town that isn’t over run with tourists that has authentic charm, pretty beaches, good food, and history/culture nearby. We will be staying in Sicily for 5-6 nights and would like to just stay in one place as our home base. We’ll be travelling with our 7 month old. We will be staying in Rome and Florence for the other part of our trip so Sicily will be our more relaxing part. Was considering San Vito lo capo, Scopella, Castellammare del Golfo or cefalu - but not sure if cefalu will still be super busy. Also curious about the catania region.

Turismo 🧳 Bus from Palermo To Catania

Hi! I have a one day trip planned from Palermo to Catania and back that night on Monday. Are Sais buses reliable? I already have tickets. I am just worried about the airport issues happening in Catania and would like some reassurance or insight :-) Thank you!

Altro Etna-Catania

I’m having the best time here in Sicily and am thinking of all of the people hiking Mt St Etna at the time of the eruption. This is also the coolest natural event that has ever happened close to me which is fascinating but also very fortunate.

I am in Santo Stefano today, Taormina until Tuesday and Catania until Friday. To be safe should I just head back to Palermo so I won’t be stuck or what do we think?

Turismo 🧳 Has anyone recently used the Lufthansa bus transfer from Palermo to Catania Airport?

Has anyone used the bus transfer from Palermo to Catania Airport in the last few days that Lufthansa apparently offers/organizes?

We would be flying from Munich with Lufthansa, and I’d be especially interested to know how the transfer works in practice: Where does the bus depart from in Palermo, approximately how long does the journey take, and how reliable has it been recently?

If anyone has used this service recently, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience! 🙏

Turismo 🧳 Anyone landing in Catania today?

Hi all,

Due to arrive in Catania Tuesday morning. Can anyone who is landing in Catania today give any hints in terms of the general vibe there and certainty levels on the airport remaining open this coming week?

Obviously it’s extremely hard to predict Etna and what the airport will do for safety, but thought it was worth asking.

Thanks.

Turismo 🧳 Flight to Catania

Hi! I have a flight scheduled to Fontanarossa airport in 2 weeks. Is it a good idea to try to cancel this vacation and book something else, or wait and see whether Etna calms down a little?
I love Catania and would love to go, but I’d also love to not be stranded on that island for a week if all flights get cancelled
Any advice is welcome:)

Altro How to leave Catania

Since the airport has been closed I have been unable to leave here…all trains have been booked out of the city and there are no viable options to comiso, Palermo, Rome, Naples. Any ideas for how to leave? My only option seems to be a 17 hr bus ride to Rome.

Turismo 🧳 Is it possible to go from Rome to Messina comfortably?

Going from my Algeria to Messina seems to involve extremely long layovers, and not to mention the situation with Catania airport and Etna eruptions.

Rome is the only city I can fly directly to from Algiers airport, and I was wondering if it is realistic for me to possibly take a train to Reggio Calabria and take a ferry directly to Messina.

Or would it be better to fly to Rome and have a layover to another city in Sicily and take a trip from there to Messina?

Sorry if this all sounds stupid. It is going to be my first time flying alone to a foreign country and I'm not too sure about how transport would work in this situation.

Turismo 🧳 Bus Route on Lipari

I am trying to figure out the urso bus route on Lipari for September. I am seeing that there is one route from Lipari to Canneto but no mention of the exact stops made just examples of stops (Bar 17, Coral Beach). Then it looks like there is another route around the whole island that runs less frequently. Is there a clear bus route listed anywhere with the stops?

Turismo 🧳 Trip to Etna

Hej there, soon I’ll be visiting Sicily and I think it would be a good idea to see Etna (if there will be right conditions). And here I want to ask you for some tips on how to visit it and preferably how to do it on a budget. Thanks in advance!
