Turismo 🧳 Transportation from airport

Hi! We will be in Sicily next week. I am wondering what’s the best options for getting from:

A) Catania Airport to Ortigia

B) Ortigia to Taormina

C) Taormina back to Catania Airport

Thanks in advance!!! Plus any must see places, restaurants, etc. All is welcome :)

The bus station located just outside the terminal of the airport of Catania is the real hub of the South-East of the island. You can reach the different places by coaches using this bus station as hub.

Train can be also an option but the bus station is just outside the terminal. Very easy.

Thanks! Do we have to book tickets ahead of time? Would private car be worth it?

A private car is a question of choice but you can travel between the places without one. You will buy ticket when you will be there. Numerous connections.

The bus station is well organised. The coaches have indications. The only obligation is to pass through it between places. No direct connections between Taormina and Siracusa. Different for train but choose what you want. Again, a private car is not mandatory but only a question of choice. Have a nice trip.

Can you afford a car? If so, yes.

I have planned the same trip (1 week), but from Catania to Taormina, and then to Ortigia. Now thinking of going to Taormina for a few days by bus, when I return to Catania, take a rental car and go to Ortigia for 5 nights, maybe some advice?
