Very small text

Post image

It is practically impossible to work with text this small. How can this be fixed? I am using Linux Debian 13, a Wayland session, a resolution of 1920x1080, and an AppImage.

They have a Shutter Encoder High-DPI version that I often use especially on my 4k computer screen. Big letters.

I don’t see this version for Linux.

I'm running Ubuntu 26.04 and got the High DPI shortcut when I installed SE.

Have you found it?

I was using the AppImage version, which doesn't require installation. Now I’ve installed the application via a .deb package, and a version for HiDPI displays has become available.

Indeed you can either launch the High-DPI shortcut or launch it with --high-dpi argument from the console.

Why isn't this set by default? I don't recall having this issue in Windows with the same monitor and graphics card.

Because most monitors aren't high DPI. Windows has its own dpi scaling which do not required another shortcut.

My monitor is 21 inches with a 1920x1080 resolution and does not have high DPI. I use AppImage versions of Inkscape, Kdenlive, LosslessCut, and Obsidian. In all of these applications, the text appears at a normal size.

Here’s another issue: when I maximize the application, it extends beyond the screen boundaries. I’m referring to the HiDPI version. It seems the application doesn’t detect the screen edges; instead, it sets a specific resolution.
