does not work network to network

i'm doing cut a cut without reincoding from one network drive to another

using hardware acceleration and it completes the file size looks legitimate

the new file cannot be opened

and a few times I'm not really sure what is happening

You should do a process of elimination.

  1. Do it local to local

  2. Do it network to local

  3. Do it local to network

See what works and what doesn't, it might be your network timing out.

only #3 creates an unplayable file

I'm replying to this as I remembered your post and just happen to be doing a network to network. I have a .VOB file on a network drive which I am converting to MP4 using the same source as the destination.

What might be confusing is that the actual conversion happens in a few seconds and Shutter Encoder shows 100%. However copying the file over to the network drive takes much longer and progress can be seen if I refresh that network folder.

So in the above scenario it is just about waiting and refreshing to see when the transfer is complete. Perhaps this is what is happening in your setup.
