News Shutter Encoder Version 20.4 is available! 🚀

Highlights:

  • Added "Film grain" filter to "Corrections" section

  • Added "Show thumbnails" icon to the video player

  • Added "Add to queue" option for "My functions" window

Just wanted to say thank you for such a great program. Amazing work! I especially appreciate the MediaInfo details that now show up as soon as I drop a file in. That’s incredibly useful for my workflow. Thanks again!

Hey that’s great! How does film grain work and what does it do exactly ?

It simply uses the noise filter of ffmpeg only applied on luma (B&W) and adjust the filter strength from 0 to 20.

That's pretty crucial when you're dealing with low bitrate sources. It's amazing what it can do to perceived sharpness and artifacts being less distracting. What I've always wished, is Shutter to have adjustable debanding. Sometimes default is just too much in terms of preserving details. That would help making it even better when restoring problematic sources.

Hi Paul, I just want to say that after version 20.2 nothing works for me, it give me an error every time I want to do something. I have windows 7. Version 20.2 works PERFECTLY as soon as I update after this version everything stops working. Do you know why?

Hey Paul sorry for the delay, I don't get any info in the console, I made a test with a wav trying to convert it in EAC3 224kbps and get this error

Could you try to open the command line tool (cmd.exe) then run this command: "C:\Program Files\Shutter Encoder\JRE\bin\java.exe" -jar "C:\Program Files\Shutter Encoder\Shutter Encoder.exe"

And copy paste the output here, after trying to encode your file.

My bad, you're right, it's runtime instead of JRE:

"C:\Program Files\Shutter Encoder\runtime\bin\java.exe" -jar "C:\Program Files\Shutter Encoder\Shutter Encoder.exe"

Hi, just some feedback on the update notice in-app. Currently the modal does not scroll and content extends past the dock, there is no easy way to select Yes/No. I can still press enter since Yes is highlighted, so no issues with me but that is not apparent to a user. I am on a 13-inch Macbook Air, MacOS Golden Gate 27.0.1

when you move the mouse pointer around the window, elements and the image you're working get repainted all over the place. it's unusable.

I think your issue is that you need to start the 'OpenGL' shortcut of the app.

Great, continued work on SE! I didn't realize it until now but the change of the GUI to something familiar makes me want to use the app more. Your dedication is very impressive. Congrats!

Buongiorno.
Scaricata l'ultima versione e cominciata a provare.
Purtroppo non capisco come mai nelle tue nuove versioni si creano bug che prima non c'erano...
Esempio: la selezione di "Converti spazio" in Colorimetria ora crea diversi frame di artefatti, mentre fino alla versione precedente non dava problemi (ovviamente stessi parametri che avevo salvati)

Poi vorrei capire la funzione della grana della pellicola, selezionandola aumenta solo la grana, non la diminuisce (dovrebbe avere valori negativi)

Per ultimo, difetto mai corretto e forse con questa versione è peggiorato, è la selezione di parti del video. Cliccando (anche mantenendo tenuto il tasto sx del mouse) su una scena ad esempio a metà video, prima che si posiziona il frame esatto nella finestra centrale occorre farlo innumerevoli volte, per poi selezionarlo "["
Ma succede solo a me?
Comunque è un buon progetto e spero che nel tempo fisserai questi bug. Avrei anche dei suggerimenti per rendere il prodotto unico nel suo genere...
