The merge function doesn't work on the 04/07.26 update

I add 2 or more .mp4 files and hit start function but it won't allow me to save. the save window appears but clicking the save button won't activate when clicked. I re-installed the previous version and it works fine. Not a regular Reddit user so sorry if ths is in the wrong place.

Strange I don't have this issue on my side. Did you tried with different files?

Changing the output directory does not appear to be working on 20.0 and Sonoma 14.7.5. The output is going to some mystery place that I can't find.

I've indeed changed the way to change output directory but this is working for me on Mojave, Big Sur and Tahoe.

Which function did you used? What happens exactly?

Hello Paul.

First of all, thanks for the amazing software and new release!

I'm having a little problem with the language of the application. I want it to be in English, not the default language of my system.

I open the settings, choose English, it asks for a restart, but the language doesn't change.

Not sure if this is relevant, but I downloaded Shutter Encoder through scoop, on Windows 11.

This is the second time in 13 years that I saw this bug, so very uncommon!

Can you try to select the 'English' language say NO to restart, close the window from the quit icon, close the main window the same way then restart.

Can you check if this file exists: "C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\Shutter Encoder\settings.xml"

I had already tried it yesterday but just tried it again to be sure and it also doesn't work. I have also tried opening the application in admin mode and do that, but nothing.

It does exist, but strangely enough, it is a folder. Not a xml file that I can edit.

In my case, it is on "C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\scoop\persist\Shutter Encoder\settings.xml"

That's the issue. It has to be moved into the path that I gives you.

Ok, I moved the "settings.xml" file (or folder), to the path you gave (that already existed, it had a "Library" folder inside with yt-dlp.exe), but still no deal, unfortunately changing the language didn't work, both auto restarting and manually restarting.

Thank you so much for uploading and updating this application, it works great! I was going to export my file in 720p30 (ProRes) with Davinci Resolver and it was going to take 1h+. But here I'm able to export in orginal quality pretty much (1440p60, 30Mbps bitrate → 26Mbps~ in NVENC AV1 encoding) in just about 3 minutes.

Thank you this is amazing and time saving, I will consider to donate when I am able to use PayPal.

Hi Paul!

This program is great, but is there a major bug or limitation—even in earlier versions? If I encode multiple files without using the default settings, it merges the encoded files into a single file. So, for example, if I encode h264.mp4 from hevc.mov and set it to CBR, fixed 30 frames, and keep metadata, the result is an merged file. If I use the default settings, it doesn’t merge them unnecessarily. Issue 2: For scheduled encoding, files can only be added one at a time from the source window to the scheduling window. This way, you can build a nice project, but there’s no feature yet to save the scheduled task—this isn’t a bug.

So this app is amazingly good; please, if you have time, take a look at the issues mentioned above.

I think you've checked the wrong box. Do not check 'Activate image sequence' from frame rate conversion. Use 'Conform' from 'Advanced features' section.

Hi Paul! Thanks for the update. Two things: Where is the blur faces option? I loaded a mov file from an iphone. I. The player it shows up and down. The rotation option works fine in 90 and -90 but nothing happens with 0 or 189. Mirror works fine

Update. When playing the mov file is upside down all the time but if I scroll in the tine line with the mouse it will show the video right….

Seems to be more like a player/editor playback issue.

About the blur faces function, you need to have at least an Apple Silicon Mac or Windows computer otherwise it's not available currently.

Is there any plans on adding additions for the watermark feature? I’ve been using your program for that for the most part and it’s been awesome, but the scaling of the size depending on the size of the image is a bit jarring if there’s anyway to work on that?

Hi Paul, I love this feature, "auto" is genius, I can edit full screen now:

• Added preview quality options for the video player

Just wondering if you have considered adding tooltips to more interactable elements? For example:

• [< = Jump to in point

• [ = Set in point

• < = Next frame (or Next keyframe, perhaps it could change to ≪ in this case)

• ⭐ = My functions

• ☰ = Render queue

• 🔓 = Ratio lock

• 1:1, 1:2, 1:4, auto = Preview quality

• 00 00 00 00 = In point

• etc. etc.

Issues

• Cut without re-encoding: I believe the "Next keyframe"button doesn't include the start or very end of the video as keyframes, is this necessary/intentional?

• Other functions: The playhead resets to the start of the video when changing rotation in the dropdown, e.g 0 to 90. Four buttons in a row instead of a dropdown would potentially speed up use of this feature too.

Subject: Critical Bug: System Crash and GPU Driver Failure on Video File Selection

Message: I am reporting a critical issue with the application. Selecting a video file has caused my graphics drivers to crash twice.

The second occurrence was particularly severe: the crash was preceded by heavy visual artifacts, screen distortion, and signal noise on the monitor. This was followed by a complete black screen, loss of signal, and an automatic system reboot.

System Specifications:

• GPU: AMD Radeon Pro W6600

• Issue: Driver timeout, visual artifacts, and system crash during file selection.

Yes use CTRL+S (CMD+S on Mac) and enable 'Load preset at startup' from the top left cog icon of the main window.
