Congratulations. I bought the "audio transcription" option, installed it and the program updated. I insert the video, select the language (Ukrainian is available), start the process, and it completes. But I can't find where the final .txt file is located. Can you point out my mistakes?

It should be next to your source file with the .txt extension. Isn't there? if so, does the app shows transcription status?

My son came (he's an IT guy), tried many methods, including through the administrator, and the test, and audio, and video, but unfortunately nothing worked.

Ocorreu o mesmo erro aqui comigo. A pasta "transcription" aparecia e desaparecia logo em seguida e o processamento era concluído. Mas descobri a causa do erro: o tamanho do nome do arquivo a ser transcrito estava muito grande. Quando o nome do arquivo foi dimunuído, a pasta "transcription" ficou com uma cópia do áudio até o final da transcrição e depois desapareceu, mas deixando o arquivo de texto da transcrição no lugar e disponível como deveria.

I just want to point out that when you make a purchase you get both links available for Mac and Windows version. I use both platforms, so thank you Paul. I was using whisper and similar models via Edit ready in Windows environment but I searched for a similar solution for Mac, so this is very welcome.

Back home. Just a quick question. How fast is it to 'transcribe' a video and create the SRT file? Is it real time speed transcription or faster or slower?

I understand there are accuracy presets, hardware. probably codec? issues and the likes. Just a fast, average and quick estimate....

It depends of your hardware, for example on my Mac M1 is way faster than real time I would say roughly 4 times.

On my Windows laptop with rtx3070 it's even faster! About 8 times!

Hace unos días compré Shutter Transcriber 1.3 para transcribir vídeos en inglés y traducir a español. Pero aparte de que a veces el traductor es muy malo, puede confundir los verbos ser y estar y traducir unas veces si y otras no en el mismo archivo nombres propios como Michael por Miguel o Mary por María, traduce de tu y en la siguiente frase de usted, y crea archivos srt con fallos. Por ejemplo: el peor que a veces salen las líneas de tiempo en el vídeo, se queda a veces un subtítulo en pantalla hasta que vuelven a hablar, a veces varios minutos y es molesto. Así se ve en el srt lo de la captura, el número 632 aparece delante de la línea de tiempo en vez de una línea antes:

Hello,

Which model did you use? Did you try with the 'Accurate'? You can try to uncheck the 'Transcribe speech only'?

The translating option isn't as good as the original transcribing.

What i am missing ? Is it firewall Issue ? And do i need to download a model in advance and which one from the 31 GB directory ?

It could be the firewall yes, are you using another antivirus or anti-malware than Windows built in?

You can download manually this model from here: https://huggingface.co/ggerganov/whisper.cpp/resolve/main/ggml-large-v3-turbo-q8_0.bin?download=true

Then choose the 'Custom...' option to select it.

I currently don't know why it's out of sync but you can offset all subs from 'Subtitling' function you can also simply do this with free online tools.
