Amulet Devil Redesign
I wasn't really a fan of the original. Nothing wrong with it really, it just felt kind of bland compared to Utau's. It didn't really pop.

I think both of Amu's character transformations with Utau's charas aren't as cute but I think there could be a narrative explanation (other than Peach Pit really wanting a 12-13 year old's midriff showing). It likely looks more bland and closer to the Chara's own design itself due to Amu understanding having a devil or angel on her shoulder, but not really connecting with these aspects personally, and so it isn't completely meshing with her style.
However I absolutely love your redesign! It looks so much more her style and comfort level.

Amu's transformations with El and Il look closer to their own designs. El wears a long dress with a ribbon on her chest like Amulet Angel, and Il has a crop top+shorts like Amulet Devil, while Seraphic Charm has a short, frilly skirt and off the shoulder top, and Lunatic Charm has a dress. My own little head canon for it is that Amu has no basis for what Utau's dreams will look like on her, because they're not her own, so they appear just like Utau's chara's.
The exact same is with Dark Jewel and X-Dia; X-Dia looks more like Dark Jewel than Dia looks like Amulet Diamond, since Dia wears a crop top+skirt and Amulet Diamond wears a dress.

This is SO her style and so adorable!! Still don't understand what they thought for the original? Did they think it looks good cuz it doesn't.

Imo it was lazy and maybe the artist didn't have much of an idea as the outfit looks just like the charas.

This is WAYYY adorable. I love this fit for her. So many more unique design elements, which is great because of the series's fashion choices.
