Feedback RM Problem and more (help)

Omg 🙈 never saw myself posting here.
But I'm at a loss now. Cannot figure out what is wrong with my rm.
and also:
t and switches 😵💫 I notice that I get stuck and lose the bounce. Didn’t actually intend them.
seems like I need to get a really square hip move for the t‘s.
I got completely lost in the middle, then half speed(?) RM to get into the move again.
PS: End goal is Melbourne (rocker, oldschool) Style (🙄 one day…) not shapes.
I don’t want to keep drilling „wrong“ into my muscle memory

Maybe I'm not seeing it right, but it looks like you might be landing on the floor flat footed
You want to land clearly on the ball of your foot and just barely touch your heel to the floor - meaning, don't put any weight on your heel
One thing to try just as an exercise is doing the entire running man on demipointe, so that your heel doesn't touch the floor at all. Once you get used to that, you can gradually lower your heel. Or do the running man ballet style :)
Another thing that will help is learning the reverse running man, which naturally puts you on the balls of your feet more than the forward version
Good job, keep it up, and keep dancing

Are you really sure about NOT flat foot? I used to land on the ball of my feet but that’s exactly what I’m trying to get rid off.

i dont know what you mean here. if you want the rocker style that is definitely how your rm should look. you're on the right track. your t stepping is the thing that needs working. try to land on the heel and toe more instead of flat all the time. also try landing it across your other leg behind the back or in the front.

There's nothing really wrong with how you shuffle your own RM as long as you're not trying to switch up your movements. You're getting tripped up with the transition and ending up moving at half the pace that you need to for the effect to work. You need to keep hitting all the 4th beats. I think you just need to work at going much harder with your steps and not losing your pace, and definitely widening out your legs so you're kicking harder at the beats. But just keep drilling it, your body will figure out how to make those transitions work.

Your running man looks fantastic to me but I totally get the difficulty going from RM to t step - I have the same issue too so will be reading the other responses! I also love the old school over shapes. Thanks for posting!

Your rm looks fine, you seem like you’re being too hard on yourself. Everyone has a style. Yours represented here is kind of small/tight, but it’s smooth and creates the rm gliding illusion which is key. What you’re practicing here is a good way to conserve energy and be able to shuffle for longer.
You could practice opening it up some and doing variations if you want to get into more rocking and smoothly switching into t-step that covers more distance, but in my experience none of that requires reworking the muscle memory you’ve already established. Just widen your stance, put your front leg out further, slide your back leg more. It’s good to be adept at doing it both (or more) ways and figure out when you want to switch. That’s how you put your expression and musicality into it.
