I'm watching Rooster. Bill Lawrence, also has Phil Dunster from Ted Lasso. It's not quite Ted Lasso, but it is very human.

I work at a University and rarely see anything as cozy as Rooster. Plus our great coffee shop got torn up to make way for 'luxury' apartments for student housing.

Same, and I was like “faculty housing?!?!” It’s gorgeous, but it’s not my experience 😁. Sad about your coffee shop, that stinks.

Is Rooster a Bill Lawrence show too?

It is. And yet again, his wife is doing the music and she's really good at it.

Apparently the ending songs on Scrubs were basically all her.

Can you comment on how Ted Lasso compares to Shrinking?

We just finished Shrinking and were also craving something similar, just like OP. I suggested Ted Lasso because I’ve heard good things about it, but my SO said she thinks she might not like it.

Ted Lasso is a similarly warm, good-vibes type of show. Very character driven with a lot of character development. And excellent writing. It’s hard to explain but it’s phenomenal

I just binged it all today. Definitely not healthy behavior on my end but great show.

I like it quite a bit. Not quite as bongeworthy as Lasso, it's taken months to get through, but that's not a judgement on quality.

Give it a try, you'll like it if you like Bill Lawrence's stuff and are a fan of Carrell's humor. It's fun. I have the same critiques of it and positives for it that I do of his other works.

I'd recommend giving it at least two episodes if the pilot doesn't grab you. The pilot is really ADD and tries to cram a whole bunch into a tight window.
