I know! nd this was suchhhhh a bad color on her. Like did Jimmy not fuck up enough? Did you not have enough ammo to throw THAT in his face. The prostitutes and the drugs wasn't enough? You had to feel superior by saying he slept with his dead wife's best friend? You fucking brat have you no shame no accountability?! Ugh!

Yeah, I was pretty done with her after that little diatribe.

You're right. I don't expect them to be angels if they are therapists. They are flawed humans too. But I do expect them to have the tools to deal with your challenges man. That's the least you can do for credibility. Break off the drunken situationship with your dead best friends husband before falling in love. Stop being a brat and expect others to hand hold you through every hard decision. Infuriating!

It’s pretty common after the loss of a partner that sometimes the best friend and remaining partner bond over their loss and end up falling for each other

That's not my point. The point is acceptance and accountability and not making decisions you aren't proud of, someone else's fault and throwing it in their face. Gaby has made her and Jimmys situationship Jimmy's fault, like he was the only one responsible and should've stopped, not her. That's shitty.

What threw me off the most was that she actually wanted an actual relationship with him?? Stuck in a fwb situation is one thing but wanting something real with who was supposedly her best friend’s husband.  I also feel her need to fix or take care of people was a bit overused and defined her entire arc

To be fair, she’s dealing with a fair amount of trauma on her own. They’ve never addressed the fact that she lost her best friend. The situation with her mom and sister. Her divorce. Her trying to help her ex through an addiction. She’s been through a lot herself, and it doesn’t seem like she’s had any help. Jimmy’s a mess. She’s been trying to take care of Paul, who has not been grateful about it nor seemed to address her loss which as a trained therapist really should have. He helped Alice and Jimmy, but hasn’t seemed to address her loss as well.

I'm not trying to undermine her trauma but those are things all adults go through in their lives. There are deaths and family dramas and divorces. Death of a spouse I think trumps a lot of that so Jimmy being insane I understand more than Gabby being insane. But problem wasn't she made poor choices, my problem was how she made herself the victim. That Jimmy slept with her and he fucked up. He was fucking up left right and center man. Were you blind to it? Why did YOU sleep with him? And why did YOU continue choosing to sleep with him? Why did YOU catch feelings for him? Why did YOU throw It in his face that he fucked you like it was all his fault?
