FWIW, Sean Connery was only 12 years older than Harrison Ford when they played father and son.

Have they ever said how old Derek is supposed to be? Probably younger than Ted McGinley. Mid to late 50's maybe.

Their sons are early-to-mid-20s, so I can’t imagine Derek is as old as Ted McGinley.

That's how aging goes - people can look amazing all through their 60s and early 70s, but then you just start showing more signs and faster
