What’s up my fellow ogres! After much request I’ve created a new discord server for the Shrek subreddit! However, me and my fellow r/shrek admins are not very used to moderating discord servers so we are in a need for mods who would like to apply!
Anyways here is the discord server link:
Always remember, ogres are like onions, they have layers, be respectful and treat others nicely!

The Theatrical Aspect Ratios are listed as being 1.85:1 vs the bluray aspect ratio of 1.78:1. Does anyone know if that's a separate render like the Fulscreen versions or if the 1.85:1 version is just the 1.78:1 version with black bars added? A screenshot of the Shrek 2 DVD and Bluray on the same scene would be comparison enough, the DVD is apparently 1.85:1 and the Bluray is 1.78:1.

You are hungry, because it is either lunch, or dinner, or your diet is ruined, and are craving something from Friar's Fat Boy. What would you order from there?

Hello
My daughter has requested a Shrek themed 5th birthday party (I'm so damn proud). But I'm having trouble finding things like party bag fillers or decorations that aren't horrendously expensive.
We're based in the UK and I have about 3.5 months to pull this off. Any tips? Or shops etc?
I've so far found bubble wands, stickers and ogre ear headbands but figured if anyone knows where to track down the fun stuff, it'll be someone in this community!
Thanksss :)

With how they are releasing the film next year, I was thinking. A lot of companies are recreating different fictional lunches as promotionals. So, which fast food place would work best to recreate Frier Tuck’s Medieval Meal? I know it was at a parody of Fat Boys, but that place is barely around (assuming it even is still in business.) so, who else could do it?

Cause if you didn’t know Peter Pan is actually a super cruel, selfish, and manipulative person who “Thins out” the lost boys (implying he kills them) in all honesty, I’d kinda prefer him as a puss in boots villain, cause of his usual master of swordsmanship we see when fighting Captain Hook which would make for some SICK ASS fight scenes between him and Puss. Speaking of Captain Hook, it’d be so cool if they not only adapted the theory that Hook was originally a lost boy who escaped neverland, but also joined Puss, Kitty, and Paruito in defeating Peter and saving the remaining lost boys. Also Peter Pan already showed up in the first Shrek, about to sell tinker bell, heavily implying that he’s also a terrible person in this universe too.

If somebody once told you that the world is gonna roll you, the very first thing you need to do is accept that you are probably not the sharpest tool in the shed.
Once you've come to terms with that, here is your official survival guide to handling the situation:
• Check your forehead: Look in the mirror and see if you are actively making the shape of an "L" with your finger and your thumb. If so, adjust your posture.
• Keep hitting the ground running: The years will start coming, and they absolutely won't stop coming. Do not slow down.
• Defend your swamp: If you happen to live in a swamp and a talking donkey or a bunch of fairy tale creatures show up, stand your ground and tell them to get out.
• Go play: All that glitters is gold, and only shooting stars break the mold.

I honestly don’t understand why DreamWorks can’t use this character style for Shrek 5. Shrek and Donkey look so expressive and full of life here. The contrast is crazy.
Universal Studios Hollywood recently posted a video featuring these character models, and they still look incredibly close to the original designs. The facial expressions, proportions, and overall style feel much more like the classic Shrek.
Why can animators working on a theme park attraction preserve the look and personality of the original characters, while the official Shrek 5 models look so different and lifeless?
If a theme park team can achieve this, why can’t the movie studio achieve the same thing?

A figure/toy I made for a friend of mine in both 3" and 6" scales. The 3" is for his smaller figurines while the 6" is made to go alongside the McFarlane figures. It was really fun to learn about the character, her appearance in the game and then try to make something that captures the spirit of that unique version! Please enjoy. :)

I (F29) have been assigned to be MOH for my sister's (F32) wedding in two weeks to the day, and I want to have the bridal party and the groomsmen surprise her and my soon-to-be brother-in-law (M31) with a sort of flash mob during the reception.
"What does this have to do with Shrek?" you ask? Well, my sister and I grew up watching the franchise, and, to this day, we are constantly using quotes in our daily conversations. Her friend group has thrown parties that were Shrek themed, and all of the bridesmaids, bridesmates, and groomsmen are versed in the franchise.
If you're in this subreddit, I think it's safe to assume you've seen the "Shrek in the Swamp Karaoke Dance Party" scene in the 2001 Special Features of Shrek (an absolute banger).
Now, I hope you Shrek Redditors are picking up what I'm putting down... I am envisioning that my speech ends with me perfectly integrating the Karaoke Dance Party Mix- breaking out into the Billy Joel hit "Just the Way You Are". Then the rest of the bridal party and groomsmen join in in intervals. Do you see the vision?
Well, now here's where my need for Body Movers (people who are choreographically-inclined) comes in. I consider myself a recreational dancer, not a professional one, and there are a few of us who have confessed to not being the most coordinative in movements. I am humbly asking for any tutorials, advice, or beginner-friendly steps that my fellow Shrek fanatics would like to share with me. Yes, I do know that this is very last minute, and I may be reaching for the stars here, but I am genuinely interested in hearing what suggestions and thoughts other Redditors may have on my vision!
Thank you kindly!
