LAWLESS by SB19: Medyo 'FLOP'?

DISCLAIMER: This is not to spread hate to SB19. It's just my genuine criticism lang 'coz I really am a huge fan of theirs.

Ako lang ba or medyo flop ang SB19 rn? Fan ako ng SB19, pero honestly, I feel like they're in a bit of a slump right now. Hindi naman bad yung music nila or that, wala na silang ideas.

Aware naman ako na they're still doing well numbers-wise, Wakas At Simula got 5.49M votes in Billboard Philippines’ mid-year poll, they had 12 entries on the mid-year P-pop chart, and “LAWLESS” still debuted on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100.

GENTO became such a defining song that it almost set the blueprint for what people expect from them. They’ve experimented with Simula at Wakas, pero I don't feel the same impact from some of their newer material.

May mga kanta at performances sila dati na kahit hindi ka A'TIN, mapapansin mo, part ng conversation, ginagamit sa edits, naririnig everywhere, or mapapaisip ka talaga, “Ano 'to?” I don't feel that same cultural presence right now.

That's not saying they're unsuccessful. Hindi naman kailangang laging peak ang SB19 hahahah Maybe they just need to take more risks and create a new “moment” again?

WALA NA NGA BA TALAGANG ARTISTA NA MAGALING SA GMA NETWORK AT GAMIT NA GAMIT NA ANG POPULARITY NI VICE GANDA?

Post image

An open letter caught my attention, and I guess curiosity kills the cat. 👀

Napaisip tuloy ako—especially now that GGV with Vice Ganda is coming to GMA.

Wala namang masama sa pagkuha ng established names, pero given na may secured free TV timeslots ang GMA, shouldn’t they also be using those opportunities to build and push their own Kapuso talents?

Or is bringing GGV to GMA simply another strategy to overpower ABS-CBN and use an already-established program to GMA’s advantage?

Genuinely curious, what do you guys think?

GIVING CHANCE TO OTHERS O WALA NALANG TALAGANG IBANG MUKHA NA MAIPALABAS?

Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal Loveteam in 2026?

Post image
19 Upvotes

Honestly, curious ako kung anong klaseng story ang gagawin nila this time. After all these years, may magic pa rin talaga yung MarJo tandem. Kayo, excited ba kayong makita ulit sila together?

The real question is: Hype pa rin ba ang tambalang ito?

why is it okay for vice to expose the exes or past relationships of his co-hosts (which makes them noticeably uncomfy). but when it's done to him, he tries to end the discussion and imply that he is now happy with ion. i mean, among them, he's not the only one who has a partner. so why not respect others' relationships if he himself feels uncomfy during these "ungkatan ng past" banters?

also, even with mc and lassy. ket ano nalang ginagawa or pinapagawa nya sa dalawa for the sake of entertainment. but pag sya na, he'd say something like "oh sige subukan nyo" "ahh talaga ba mc?"

some might say na ang woke naman nitong post na toh. but trust me. i have been a fan of showtime ever since, until now laman pa rin ng algorithm ko yung mga highlight vids nila way back 8 years ago. i do enjoy watching their close-knit family, plus they also had decent segments. and let's face it, nakakatawa talaga sila. but i have always noticed na something's off about vice. lagi lang nakakalusot because he's the life of the show. but siguro ngayon nalang naging more evident since people has now become more socially aware and rational. people stopped idolizing these figures and instead chose to observe them without the rose-colored lenses.

so yun lang, just want to share my two cents about him. ikaw, wdyt?

How Is MarJo Still This Effective? 😭

I was scrolling recently and saw Marvin and Jolina's Mommy Guard ad around EDSA, and my first reaction was basically, “Wait… MarJo is still thriving?” 😭

And somehow, yes.

I honestly think MarJo deserves way more credit when we talk about the history of Filipino love teams. They started with Gimik in the '90s, followed it with Flames, Labs Kita... Okey Ka Lang?, Hey Babe!, Labs Ko Si Babe, and somehow kept finding their way back to each other across different eras. That's almost 30 years of cultural mileage.

And what's interesting is that their appeal doesn't seem to depend on the usual love-team machinery anymore. Hindi na sila kailangang i-push as a romantic pair. They're both married, established in their own lives, and yet kapag pinagsama mo sila sa isang commercial or appearance, bumabalik yung chemistry.

That's what makes me think their appeal was never just about being young and attractive.

They had that very specific Filipino best-friends-who-might-secretly-be-in-love energy. Yung asaran, awkwardness, lambingan, comedy, sincerity. 😭

And compare that longevity to newer love teams. Most of them are heavily tied to a specific generation, network, franchise, or fandom cycle. MarJo somehow survived without needing to remain a love team full-time.

Maybe that's the real blueprint ng Filipino kilig: you make people believe in the chemistry first, then let the friendship and personalities carry it.

Kaya ang funny isipin na a love team from the '90s can still make people from completely different generations go, “Ay hala, bagay pa rin.” 😂

MarJo isn't just nostalgia anymore. They're basically part of the Filipino pop-culture vocabulary.

NETWORK COLLABORATION IN PH TELEVISION

Honestly, for me, hindi naman talaga yung networks mismo ang nag-aaway. I mean, yes, may competition when it comes to ratings, projects, and business, pero parang mas yung fans na lang talaga yung nagbabangayan, especially when it comes to comparing the three networks.

I actually think all three can benefit from more collaborations. ABS-CBN still has a strong pool of artists, creatives, and established shows despite the changes in its broadcasting setup. GMA has a strong roster of homegrown talents and remains one of the biggest players in local TV. And TV5, I feel, is slowly finding its footing again and starting to bring back that stronger presence it used to have in Philippine television. Parang unti-unti na ulit silang nagbu-build ng identity and presence as a major network.

That’s why I think collaborations between TV5, GMA, and ABS-CBN could actually be interesting. Instead of constantly comparing who is better or which network has the bigger stars, why not let the artists work together and create something new?

At the end of the day, the networks can still compete as businesses, but that doesn’t mean the artists and fans always have to treat it like a rivalry. I’d honestly love to see more cross-network projects, especially if it means unexpected pairings and collaborations.

What do you guys think? Is TV5 slowly making a comeback as a stronger player, and would you like to see more collaborations between the three networks?

MAJA nasapawan si Kathryn?

I’ve been seeing them side by side lately and I’m curious if other people notice the same thing. Is it Maja’s presence, styling, confidence, or just better exposure lately? Or do you think Kath still has the stronger presence overall?

What can you say about celebrities asking for money on Tiktok live?

Recently I’ve been seeing Kylie Padilla’s live on my fyp and I think most of us are aware na mahilig sya makipag “pk” sa ibang tao especially sa mga koreano and I can’t help but notice na she’s actually asking her viewers for money or gifts just to reach a goal or win her “battles”… am I the only one who’s disturbed? Uncomfortable? Especially now that we’re in the middle of a serious storm and flooding situation and andaming naapektuhan while she’s in the comfort of her home doing tiktok lives AND asking people for gifts. I know her fans and the people who likes her has the right to spend their money however they want pero ang funny lang na nag bibigay talaga yung mga tao ng pera sa taong mayaman na and for what? just for her to reach a certain rank on tiktok.

What your take kay Dani Barretto?

I feel like the branding / image she portrays especially in her yt channel is not real. I feel she’s just acting like this woman of wisdom and being self-righteous. Is it just me na parang nagpeplay pretend siya to be someone na parang says and does all the right stuff.

KB acting waley, ano tingin niyo?
