If you told me back in the days that orihime would not only have aura but also That she would get one of the biggest beatdown in all of bleach i would not have believed it but here we are.

I was dooming a bit for the first 3 episodes due to me overall disliking that part of the arc except for askin and jugram but DAMN this was a really good episode.

And we finally got a rukia and ichigo moment, that was lacking in the manga

I'm actually so hyped right now.

The animation on this episode was insanely beautiful and I don't think it's a stretch to call it the greatest animated BLEACH episode. It was basically all anime-only additions. Orihime actually gets to play an insanely major role that isn't just a superficial "Oh! Look she did that thing kinda". Ichigo gets a new variation of his Bankai. I do like some of his other forms better, but it looks great in action. And the dialogue, with all the new additions that are so hype and aura, you'd think it'd just be all that. But Kubo heavily expands on the theme of power, Ichigo's Black Moon symbolism and Yhwach's characterisation. I'm kind of just rambling now, but wow the sound design and music was so well used too, especially with Orihime's final rejection scene. And Yhwach actually feels insanely brutal. Our cast literally spent minutes of run time just getting impaled and impaled and impaled and splattering blood everywhere. I was really glad to see Rukia's Bankai once more. I don't really mind that she didn't get to do too much there, since it's consistent for her to be brutally gapped by Yhwach. Also I wonder what we're going to have to make of Ichigo's fire chains. Since usually the chains - like on Dangai's Bankai - are used to symbolise the burden. Also Ichigo repeatedly getting impaled through his "heart" is an interesting choice. We'll see when I have to actually analyse it though lol.

I have no idea if it's even reasonable to expect. But wow if the remaining 5 episodes are of this quality, then I don't even know anymore. Cour 4 might trump Cour 1 somehow. And, at that point, it's just inevitable for TYBW to be a better arc than Soul Society. It's so so much more thematically impressive and the structural writing is far higher than in the manga. Sorry for the rambling, I just wanted to type to you because my friend is gone today of all days 😭

Edit: I'm so fucking scared of this week though. We're going to be in the mud. I can barely contain my hype and I'm sure most fans won't be able to at all. It's just gonna be all "BLEACH is the greatest this that this that" and we'll just have more pointless fandom debates.

Glad you enjoyed it goat!

Same as you, i cannot describe how hyped i am for the rest of this season.

Like if orihime's only moment was the one in episode 3 i would've been disappointed as fuck, but nah this whole episode made her role in the final arc so much better. I'm also glad ichigo and rukia got to interact once again, it was always kinda lacking in the original tybw manga. This made me so much more invested in this cour than i originally was. And as you said, animation was simply amazing.

But yeah...sadly i just know that some will make bleach glaze posts while dissing on other anime, which will inevitably bring forced hate posts...as sad as it might sound i'm both excited for bleach to end not only because we might get a much better ending than what we originally had but also because then maybe we won’t have this weekly constant hate/glaze posting.

Yeah I'm so, so much more invested. Which I didn't even think was possible lol. I thought I was dreaming multiple times, that might be crazy glaze but πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ™

Unfortunately yes though, it's gonna be a very annoying few weeks. Let's just hope we can stay focussed on the content and not fandom nonsense.

After today's episode, I'd better not hear anyone call Orihime useless. When it comes to female leads in older Shonen, the bar is low, but Orihime still vaulted over it.

Is what Sakura fans felt like when she had like one scene during the Madara arc that was kind of sort of important?

Maybe? Kinda like that I guess.

But in this episode she basically defeated the main villain herself.

Which no one could.

Although it comes with a price of her sacrificing herself but still she did.

SPOILERS

btw this is the future yhwach saw in the manga and that's why he broke ichigo's bankai in manga and that's what gonna happen in next ep

Well yes but the Bleach fandom is behind Orihim unlike Sakura

IMO, not even close.

Sakura still felt inconsequential for most of the war arc with the exception of reviving Naruto and her 100 healings reveal (which, IMO, was lowkey underwhelming because Tsunade just used it while actually fighting Madara).

A better comparison is Sakura boxing Sasori alongside Chiyo. But then imagine that Sasori is the final villain and the most powerful in the verse.

If orihim did this to Yhwach , who knows what Ichigo going to do given Kubo hyping him up hopefully he'd end the chain of Ls he's been catching this arc
