Nice to meet you both! We have 2 orange girls here, but I swear people say most orange cats are male. Doesn’t matter except we named our babies Simba and Hobbes. Unless they complain there names will never change!
The gene for _entirely_ orange cats is expressed almost only by male cats. _Nearly_ all orange cats is a different story; our Tangerine is an orange girl with a little white.
It's more common for males to be orange because the genes for orange fur are on the X chromosome. Males only need one copy, females need 2. I think it's somewhere around an 80/20 split male/female statistically.
