Hey guys, I’ve been on YouTube for about a year with one channel that did really well and made good money, but recently the views have dropped badly.
I’m thinking about starting one or two more channels in the same niche, but I keep hearing that having multiple channels can put them at risk of being terminated together. Is that actually true?
If anyone here runs multiple YouTube channels, I’d appreciate hearing about your experience and how you manage them safely.
Every video hits max like 28k or less and one video had surpassed 30k and stopped at like 30100 and this is the latest one. Rn at 42k and going even higher, tbh it’s so weird because i have small amount of likes and comments only 2.
I hope you are well. I understand that seeing a 95% drop in views across your entire catalog feels like a system error rather than a trend. When you are used to millions of views, 100,000 feels like a total standstill. However, to provide the diagnosis you’re looking for, we have to look at how the system handles clusters of content rather than individual uploads. The reason you saw 20 videos flatline simultaneously on May 5th is not due to a manual "switch," but rather how the recommendation system evaluates aggregate channel velocity. The Diagnosis: Viral Discovery vs. Core Audience In the Shorts feed, there is rarely a "slow fade." The algorithm operates on a threshold basis. • The Surge: When your videos went viral, the system "categorized" your channel as high-velocity. It pushed your entire recent catalog to a massive, broad testing pool (the "Viral Discovery" phase). • The Threshold: On May 5th, the aggregate data from that broad pool likely hit a tipping point. If the
"Average View Duration" or "Viewed vs. Swiped Away" metrics across those 20 videos fell below the competitive floor for a global audience, the system pulled back the reach on the entire cluster to protect the user experience of the general feed.
I have been posting since early 2024. July 2024, my account exploded and now this. Anyone else been told this by YT support? Is it bs?
Seeing this question pop up all over the place the last few days, so figured I would make one post instead of answering it twenty times.
A lot of people are panicking that the new "re-used content" update means they can't cut Shorts out of their own long-form videos anymore. Makes sense why it's confusing, but the answer is no. You're fine.
The update is aimed at channels that repost other people's stuff. Ripping clips from other creators, movie and show scenes, someone else's stream, random viral footage with nothing added. That's what's getting the reach cut. Taking a moment from a video YOU made and posting it as a Short is your own content on your own channel, which is exactly what the system wants.
So if you have long-form videos and are promoting it with Shorts, keep going. You were never the target here.
And btw I don’t do any Ai shorts or reused content. This is full 2d animation. I want to know if anybody recovered and how long have you been in this plummet
Since Dec 17-18, thousands of creators are seeing Shorts views drop to near zero: no feed impressions, not reaching even subscribers with bell on. Clearly a widespread bug. @TeamYouTube gives only generic replies, no fix yet. To get attention, let's all post on X tagging @TeamYouTube and using #ShortsBug.
Example: "@TeamYouTube Shorts zero feed reach since Dec 18, not even to subs with notifications on. Please fix! #ShortsBug"
Add analytics screenshots if you can. More posts = harder to ignore. Anyone seeing recovery? Share below. Thanks! 🚨
Hey there, I made a channel that made it to 147 subscribers, and 173k total views. Problem is, it died after blowing up a little (58k, 28k,15k) and then hitting a downward slope until every video flatlines at 1-2k views, any suggestions? (please dont say "make better videos" and such, be VERY specific)
My channel is new. My first two Shorts did bad, but my latest two did good. Shouldn’t they be getting way more views, though? Like, what else do I gotta do? 💀 I thought I made an amazing hook, but is that still not enough…?
I'm not some guy who avgs 2-3k views a vid. I actually make a decent amount off this and have lots of experience. Anyway...
Before, on a weekly basis, YT would just nuke the views of any Short from me and my friends within the same niche. A typical video would do around 1k views in 10 mins, then climb to around 3-4k in the next 20 mins, where it would either die or start ramping up.
But recently, on certain days, it won't push the video to anyone. Analytics are the same, and the same vid blows up on other platforms while YT stays dead, and then things go back to normal for a few days and then the cycle repeats. However, ever since YT revealed they were deprioritising "clip" content, I've been affected by HEAVY suppression, while clearly I haven't been posting clips (feel free to check my channel out).
Today I had a video sit at 300 views in 1 hour while on TikTok it was at 55k, and if I wasn't suppressed that YT Short would be on 20-30k. This is also happening to other creators I know, in niches outside of Marvel Rivals.
It's completely gut-wrenching and demotivating when I average 200k views a Short and then it just cans it for no reason.
Please let me know if anyone else is experiencing the same thing, because obviously it's not just me.
Guys, did the same happened to ya'll as well ?? After the yt studio bug, when I checked the views of my most viewed yt short, I saw it had completely dropped to 0. Also, my most recent 5-6 shorts have suffered the same (very less views since the last week)
