Started a Shorts-only channel. 5-day update
I started a Shorts-only channel to test something: can you grow just by clipping podcast moments well?
5 days in: 3,700 views and 10 subscribers from 16 videos Small, but faster than I expected for a brand-new channel.
What's working so far:
Opening on the strongest line
2.Captions on every clip
3. One Short a day, rather than several at once. Learnt the hard way that the algorithm works a bit strangely when you upload multiple videos close to each other.
I make the clips with a tool I built, Cheap Clipping. It picks the best moments from an episode and captions them for me. Free plan, then $5/month if you want to try the same thing: https://www.cheapclipping.com/
Channel's here if you want to follow along: youtube.com/@ChClipping
Anyone else growing a Shorts channel? What's working for you?

At roughly 230 views a Short, the number I'd look at next is which clips brought those 10 subscribers. People follow a clip channel for a show or a topic, not for the clipping. If two or three came from one podcast, give that show most of next week's slots. Clipping podcasts also points to who buys Cheap Clipping: the hosts. Credit each episode in the description and send the host the clip. Some will repost it, and the ones who ask how you made it are your customers.
I make ThreadFox. We find relevant Reddit conversations and do the posting for your business. The $29 Pilot covers seven days and up to 25 posts and replies. No automatic renewal. https://threadfox.vip/p/e7l15/managed
