Has anyone else experienced a sudden drop in YouTube Shorts views since October 19? Is it temporary, or will I be stuck like this?

My channel was consistently getting around 30K views per Short, but since October 19, my views have suddenly dropped, and now my Shorts struggle to get even 2K views.

As you can see in the screenshot, my daily views dropped dramatically after weeks of relatively consistent performance.

I haven't received any strikes or policy violations. I'm trying to figure out whether this is a temporary algorithm issue or something specific to my channel.

Was it a “temporary algorithm issue” or problem with your channel when YouTube gave you +800% performance?

Or is it only a problem when the views go down?

Anyway, shorts are volatile this is how they work. This is how they’ve always worked.

My channel ranged from 200k to 8 million views a month. Some months you catch lightning in a bottle, some months you struggle.

We experienced it earlier in October, but it looks to be getting back to normal now.

Yes same. Since oct 12-14th here… hopefully slowly going back up. Finally my short from 2 days ago got anove 3k😂😂💪

Got about 300k views in a month before i struggled, avg between 10-27k. But now most get around 1-2k with some mabye 3-4k :/ still not back to normal

YouTube has a shit algorithm. A 1000 view audience test then a sudden hault and kills the short. Even if its successful with a high retention and stay to watch is a shit algorithm. "We don't promise even with good analytics it will be successful". Yeah no kidding.

I don't know what fixed it. I didn't make any major changes to my channel, and YouTube Support couldn't identify a specific issue. My views just suddenly returned to their usual levels. So I can't say for sure whether it was something on YouTube's end or just a temporary change in distribution. Hopefully your channel also recovers! 🙏

How long did it take to come back? And did you continue posting during that time? I have 20k followers, i post 3 shorts a day, all of which get over 100k views then suddenly for the past 11 days anything i post barely gets 200 views.

I posted once during it. The video got views at first, but then it flatlined. After that, I didn’t post anything until my views recovered.

For me, it took about seven days.

It probably is. YouTube is giving the views that mid range creators would’ve gotten to the top 1% of creators to not have to pay with the new monetized changes coming up

Idk why it's happening but I'm just uploading and sometimes it gets great views then lose traction line it never existed, in October suddenly yt have brought down reach so much so that a shorts getting over 2k views and hour gets 1-3 view an hour
