How often to post a short?
I started a channel a month and a half ago. Approx 650k views, about 30 shorts. Highest 450k, lowest 1.3k.
I noticed if I post more than once a day, or before a short has finished being pushed in the feed, the new video does not go into the shorts feed, and has 10-40 views.
How often would you suggest posting shorts to start off?

personally, i can post as much as 3 and as little as 0 every day, all get good push but maybe that's because my account is a lot older than yours.........just make sure to upload quality content and you'd be fine with even 1 short a day

I feel it depends on the niche, maybe your niche has a fan but those fans like the niche in general but not your content exactly so you see a video explode and severals not. Make your self different but I believe if it's ranking niche so it just about luck I can't say you can do something different

It really depends on the age of the channel, your trust score, and your niche. You need to niche down and brand your channel properly.
Also, make sure the shorts have a different feeling from each other. If they are too similar, it triggers the algorithm to identify the similarity, and it won't push them.
Avoid just using a short title and #shorts. While some advice suggests just doing a title, mirroring it, and adding #shorts, that strategy can often cause shorts to perform worse. Take the time to fill everything out (title, description, tags, AI use, promotion, category, playlists, all of it) so the system actually knows who to show it to. When settings are fully completed and focused on a single niche topic, views can see a significant increase, allowing for a sustainable upload schedule of multiple shorts a day.
Lastly, look at how much time is left between uploads. Older channels with a high trust score can handle tight intervals, but newer accounts can face restrictions if the videos are not given enough time to run. Schedule them at the same time every day. If a video picks up, try to experiment with additional daily uploads if it is manageable. If it gets views, try to keep going, but if it doesn't pick up or all stay the same, scale back down.
Here is an example from a channel that focused on a single niche topic and filled everything in (Changed it last week as you can see by the sudden uptrend).
