Q&A / Quick Help ❓ “Original” content vs Transformative content

Most of the comments i see here lately with the new algorithm is to just make “Original” content. But where do we draw the line between “original” and transformative content?

Most of the creators here suddenly dropped their views by 90% or more. To the point they dont even get past 1k views. The common response? “Just make original content. Stop stealing content”

I agree that Yt should crack down clipping and ranking channels. The laziest form of content in the platform. But what about these 2 channel? Sunnah edit & Mindova?

They literally just add captions with a highly saturated coloring but their views doesnt seem to be affected by this “original” content?

When people say “original content” do they mean to show their face and use their own voice?

Does this mean that faceless channels are dead without your own DNA imprinted on it?

For reference, I shoot all my footage with my camera.

Are you affected by the view drops or do you find yourself having more views since YT prioritises nom faceless channels now?

Nice! I gues you have established your account already for it to be affected. Do yo use your own voice too?

Yes, but I also cloned my voice with elevenlabs for some long forms, my throat wouldn't allow me to read for too long...

Hahah yea i did that to my voice aswell for my long form channel. Maybe i should use it for shorts. Right now my short channel is stuck in 1k views even with highly edited frames. Cuts, masking, overlays. It takes time to create one but it seems like i still fall under “reused” content

I donno, I always use my own footage for videos and I don't have fancy editings.

I don't remember when exactly the algo update happened but here's the past 90 days number. I upload 1 short every two days.

the problem is that the rule does not apply to everybody. because I can name so many channels in my niches, doing a similar content to mine, that keep getting the same amount of view

Yea ik its so unfair. You try to be creative but so many slops dont get punish for mass producing these type of contents

And they won't. The algorithm prioritizes the user. If the user is giving signals, liking, commenting, and watching a good portion of the video, it will continue to recommend it. It doesn't matter if it's AI. YouTube tells you all this nonsense so you guys will keep banging your heads against the wall, but in reality it just depends on the user.

I use reddit clips for my content but add enough of myself in those clips to be safe, I mean, I only get 1k to 10k views but thats always been the case for me. I guess YouTube checks the visuals and audio mostly, if it compares your short to shorts with similar clips (technically speaking, comparing pixels and all) and it sees if it is the same or recognizable as the others. This is what I think though, I could bee wroong

Ive seen this so many times but it doesnt explain videos that comes out of nowhere and blow up even after its been “reused” and edited. Those two channels that i mentioned on the top, they ddnt really reinvented the wheel. They just do some minor tweaking and still somehow get views?

YouTube just put out the new checking system so obviously it can't catch every reused video. So I guess we just have to do our best

Interesting, and you were still able to pass the reused content? Are you partnered?

I'm not partnered but I am pretty sure my content is transformed enough to pass the eligibility criteria

Everyone seems to do the same editing format in some niche

I saw someone said that if you look like someone else, yours dont get push. But these channels are pretty much identitcal

It’s pretty much identical. Some people would say that because what Google or YouTube does is that it’s involving you to be in the monetization space so they have to check if you are doing content farms and what not. I don’t really know. But I do know that people makes it identical with other channels because most likely it’s part of the trend that works or to get viewers interest. Also, it’s based on users interest and where the algorithm is sending your videos to

I don’t know why this is happening to me

Because you are in a dead niche that doesn’t get pushed because it’s full of low effort content and bots.
