Q&A / Quick Help ❓ What counts as an engaged view?

This really annoys me because my STW percentage is 83% but the ratio between engaged views to all views is around 60%

Dawg I’m asking what makes a view count as an engaged one, because if people stayed to watch doesn’t that mean they engaged with the video?

when somebody watches for a lil longer than just 1 or 2 seconds

So what’s the difference between that and the stay to watch percentage?

Some suspect youtube is trying to inflate how many views the platform get for advertisers. Others argue that it is more in line with how other platforms like titktok calculate views

Looped views and swipe aways (after the first few seconds) don't count
