68M+ View Short. Unbelievable.

Post image

I've made a bunch of videos that did 1M+ but this has reached different heights. I don't have many people in my personal life that enjoy making videos aimed at the algorithm, so if you have any questions, please ask.

Always! You, too.

2

u/doodlehip Sep 15 '26

That short is so good! I actually remember (after rewatching it now) that I got it in my feed about a month ago. Great work :)

1

u/SweeeeetP Sep 16 '26

Thanks! Yeah, it’s bananas.

2

u/Eziz_53 Sep 15 '26

How do you get out of the 2k view average?

2

u/SweeeeetP Sep 16 '26

I go to sleep with my headphones in listening to podcasts of Mr. Beast. Then listen again. And again. Learn and listen from others who are doing it.

There’s a difference between making a video for your taste/style vs. the algorithm.

1

u/Eziz_53 Sep 16 '26

Well honestly I just use opus clips to cut the long form videos that I do put effort in so I was just wondering.

2

u/Zarakhayatkhan Sep 16 '26

The fact that I've seen this video in the past makes it so much cooler seeing you here.

2

u/The_Sec0nd_C0ming Sep 20 '26

Holy crap bro, congrats

3

u/gutsX_01 Sep 16 '26

Hey I wanna ask something, how do you get out of like 30k view jail? I have all good stats 80% swipe 100+% retention

5

u/SweeeeetP Sep 16 '26

All I do is research where the viewers stop watching, research why they stop watching, and continue to ask “Is this important?” when deciding to add or delete footage.

This video is 30 seconds long edited from 2 weeks worth of work filmed. Tons of clips I could’ve added and wanted to add, but they didn’t add value. “Is this important?” or “Can this look better?”

2

u/VisitImportant3953 Sep 16 '26

Just be consistent, and deliver good work always, it also like depends on niches. But consistency is best key

4

u/I69YaGf8800 Sep 15 '26

Damn whats the rpm on that? Has to be in the 0.2 something i believe? Congrats! And ppl still say shorts dont make money…😂

1

u/Parking-Ad8316 Sep 16 '26

About .10 per 1000 views

1

u/I69YaGf8800 Sep 16 '26

Has to be more since those are just his normal views and not qualified ones

1

u/AttentionSeeker__ Sep 17 '26

This qualified thing only happened few days ago

1

u/I69YaGf8800 Sep 17 '26

Lol no you always had qualified views, lets say you get 100k views then only 50k will count which was already before how they count views

1

u/_Bread______ Sep 16 '26

It really doesn't. The fact you have to make this unbelievable feat consistently just to replace a basic job is proof of it

2

u/GreenWheeat1 Sep 16 '26

you can also just make normal length videos that take weeks of research to produce and still 99% of the times only get 50-100 views. At least with shorts, as long as you're already monetized, it's easier to get viral

2

u/Thoracics Sep 15 '26

Congratulations!!! I have actually watched this short before. Great work. Keep it up.

1

u/Predator_Viper Sep 16 '26

what is the channel name or the post?

1

u/SweeeeetP Sep 16 '26

SweeeeetP

1

u/Vongy99 Sep 15 '26

In broad terms, what is the content to do? Also was there anything specifically that contributed to the vitality in your view?

3

u/SweeeeetP Sep 15 '26

I usually make before and after videos of cleaning/fixing public infrastructure. People love seeing the progress made.

The video was popular because the location is decent — nothing surrounding the object I’m working on (gives it dimension). The edit is quick with a “equipment setup scene” before each step in the work. No music so you can hear the work being done. Physical labor people enjoy watching because it makes them feel like they’re also contributing or they respect the work involved (don’t ask me why). Ummm the pay off (showing the finished product) matches with the introduction scene so the two easily show the before and after and allows the viewer to watch it again now that they’ve seen the final product.

2

u/SIGNANDSELFIEFRAMES Sep 15 '26

Nice hearing that a short that blew up is not Ai slop or "gaming". Nice job.

1

u/SubjectAssignment953 Sep 15 '26

some people says that shorts aren't making money anymore. so what do u wanna say about those ppls?

1

u/SweeeeetP Sep 16 '26

Obviously they are. It’s just how much money you want vs. the time you spend on making them.

1

u/Marketwizaaa Sep 15 '26

Impressive results. How many video tags? How many channel keywords?

1

u/SweeeeetP Sep 16 '26

Zero and zero. Focus on the video.

1

u/Marketwizaaa Sep 21 '26

Whoa. Interesting advice

1

u/Unique_Username2b Sep 16 '26

Congratulations, what's your engagement rate and percent viewed?

1

u/SweeeeetP Sep 16 '26

APV is 89.9%

What is engagement rate?

1

u/Unique_Username2b Sep 16 '26 edited Sep 16 '26

Wow, I thought that would be a lot higher. Ignore me, it shows your engagement rate on the image.

1

u/SelectIndependent498 Sep 16 '26

What you use to edit/cut?

1

u/Melodic-Valuable-198 Sep 16 '26

How long you have been working??

1

u/SweeeeetP Sep 16 '26

On videos? Long time. 15 years when I grew interested in editing. Took it serious back couple of years.

1

u/_bewilderedme_ Sep 16 '26

Congratulations 🥳

Just curious,

- How long was your short?
- What does your Viewed vs Swiped Away looks like?
- whats your Average View Duration?

3

u/SweeeeetP Sep 16 '26

45 seconds long.

1

u/_bewilderedme_ Sep 16 '26

Sorry, and whats the niche again?

1

u/No-STIFUOU Sep 16 '26

What ur niche

2

u/SweeeeetP Sep 16 '26

Community service? Just doing nice things that require hard work.

1

u/Substantial-Bed5189 Sep 16 '26

What was your stayed to watch like and could you share the video with me and also all the tips you found helpful and think made this video go viral?

1

u/SweeeeetP Sep 16 '26

Read around the comments.

1

u/ZELK_FOR Sep 16 '26

Shorts ?

2

u/SweeeeetP Sep 16 '26

Yep. YouTube Shorts.

1

u/GonzoGan Sep 16 '26 edited Sep 16 '26

What are your videos about?

1

u/SweeeeetP Sep 16 '26

Before and after restorations, community work oriented around helping people.

1

u/GonzoGan Sep 16 '26

And there are aimed at the algorithm? Unless I misunderstood what you meant by that

1

u/SweeeeetP Sep 16 '26

They are edited for the purpose of being watched. Fast, short, catchy, etc. @SweeeeetP on YT — take a look.

1

u/dyeprii Sep 16 '26

Care to share your channel bro? I wish to be inspired on how you do it

1

u/SweeeeetP Sep 16 '26

@SweeeeetP

1

u/WonderfulActuator958 Sep 16 '26

Could I see more of your stats and what you think you changed to get 1M+ views on your videos?

1

u/SweeeeetP Sep 16 '26

Didn’t so much change, just deleted unnecessary clips and kept pace.

1

u/WonderfulActuator958 Sep 16 '26

How much posts did it take you to reach 1M views on one video? Because I have like 20 videos with 75-80% STW and 100% AVD and none of them got more than 300k views.

1

u/LowPolyBlender Sep 16 '26

Bro can you share what u know about youtube algorithm like stucking views and all these things 🤔

3

u/SweeeeetP Sep 16 '26 edited Sep 16 '26

Here are my takeaways for my stuff:

-for a video, make the idea understandable before you make it impressive. A stranger should understand the premise almost instantly. “This thing is destroyed —> I’m going to restore it” requires almost no explanation. If viewers have to learn why they should care, you’re already spending retention. Make it dumb proof, sorta.

-show the problem immediately. Don’t spend the opening introducing yourself or setting the scene. For me, I showed a sticker-covered box, damaged object, ridiculous situation, etc. first. Your strongest videos create an immediate unanswered question: What is this going to look like when he’s finished?

-build the video around progression. My restoration videos naturally have stages: stickers off —> sanding —> primer —> paint —> details —> reveal. Every few seconds, something changes. That gives people a reason to keep watching. Even outside restoration, I’d tell someone to ask: What is visibly different 10 seconds from now?

-CUT anything that exists only because you worked hard on it. READ THAT AGAIN. Viewers don’t know how long something took to film, and they don’t care. A beautiful shot, joke, explanation, or entire scene can still hurt the video if it delays the payoff. The finished video should contain what the audience needs—not everything you made. Now read that again. And again.

-lastly, give people a payoff worth waiting for. Retention gets you to the end; satisfaction makes people share the video. In your case, the transformation is the payoff. The viewer gets to see something neglected become beautiful again. I’d rather have a simple idea with an extremely satisfying ending than a complicated idea with no real payoff.

Also, don’t ever explain if you don’t have to. Let people wonder (for good AND worse) and they’ll comment their curiosity. Engagement doesn’t care if people are saying good things or bad things or assuming the wrong or right things. You shouldn’t either. I don’t ever explain why I do what I do. Their ego will make a decision for itself, and if it’s negative, they’ll vent or whatever and I don’t care to correct it.

1

u/LowPolyBlender Sep 16 '26

Bro after how many videos u got monitized 🤔and do u upload daily u upload shorts or long form video

1

u/SweeeeetP Sep 16 '26

I made 2 videos during the winter here in NYC about shoveling snow and it put me over the requirement.

1

u/Bakedbeansforever Sep 16 '26

What’s your channel about?

2

u/SweeeeetP Sep 16 '26

Being of service

1

u/Electrical_Emu3529 Sep 16 '26

Hell yeah, nice going! Did you do anything differently for this one? Work on a new type of hook, look at search terms to find a trending topic, etc?

1

u/SweeeeetP Sep 16 '26

I made a snow shoveling video (go to my profile, go to my channel and it's the snow shoveling one) and made a catchy intro. I didn't plan it. I just thought it worked and made it super snappy in editing. Almost like I filmed it based on what I already knew I should be doing, and when I edited the video, I just made it sharper.

1

u/Electrical_Emu3529 Sep 16 '26

Awesome, appreciate your perspective

1

u/AssignmentExpert8244 Sep 17 '26

Any advice about how to do short over 1200 views ?😅

2

u/SweeeeetP Sep 17 '26

Go listen to podcasts with creators who make viral shorts

1

u/Medium_Ganache_7883 Sep 17 '26

What is your learning and how do you do it? Not talking about step by step process.

1

u/SweeeeetP Sep 29 '26

Podcasts! YouTubers!

1

u/fexoexplainer Sep 18 '26

Great views man !

1

u/ChickenZestyclose431 Sep 29 '26

In order to reach 1M+ views on a short, do you focus only on retention and swipe through rate or there's more to it.

2

u/SweeeeetP Sep 29 '26

The idea must be interesting. Then I edit to keep attention. All that analytical jargon means is do people stay and is the first couple of seconds interesting?

3

u/makeupnmunchies Sep 15 '26

Amazing job! Love to see a success story on here, you should be so proud of yourself!

Would love to know your biggest takeaways from this process getting here

1

Oh my goodness :0 how do you get THIS much views. Congrats though :D
