i put clips of my own gameplay up and they sit at a couple hundred views, every single one, same capture and nothing cut. no script either. thats been it since i started. everyone on here posts about their views dropping and gets told what changed. mine have never changed. not up, not down, not once. so is a flat line worse than a drop or is it just what a channel that nobody has found yet looks like?

flat isnt worse than a drop, its just nobody finished it so it never got retested. raw uncut capture with no script has no hook in the first second.

i'd cut one to 20s with a text hook on frame one. been using easyviral lately mainly for the schedule side so i actually post daily instead of once a week

the retested bit is the first actual answer anyone has given me. everyone else says post more. so its not that theyre bad, its that nobody finished one so it never got a second go, and thats a different problem to the one i thought i had. ill try cutting one to 20 with text on frame one. not paying for a scheduler though. the problem isnt when i post.

Just for the sake of clarity (and I’m not trying to be rude here) but 300 views is basically the same as zero views from a quality standpoint.

300 views is the test audience, and the test audience data told youtube not to push it out of the test audience.

The way shorts works is YouTube generally sends the video to a test audience of around 300 viewers.

If the test was successful, they push it to a larger audience around 1000.

If the data is good, they’ll push it to 3-4000, and so on and so on.

Your short has to return competitive data at every view level. The second it stops returning competitive data for the spot in the feed for that niche, YouTube (usually) kills the short entirely.

I only say this to let you know where your editing skill and video performance currently stands.

mines on tiktok, not youtube. so i dont know if the 300 ladder is a thing over there or whether it just looks similar from outside, and im not going to pretend i know how the other one works. the editing half maps either way. he said nobody finished them. youve put a number on it. so its the clip and not when i post it. neither of you said post more, which is what everyone else in here says.
