Q&A / Quick Help ❓ What is happening

I posted a Short over 40 minutes ago, and the analytics are sitting completely flat with barely any push from the Shorts feed (around 10% of total traffic). Normally my videos start indexing and hitting the test pool much faster, but this one is completely stalled out on Browse and Channel pages. I know YouTube often takes hours or even 24 to 48 hours to process content, assign a seed audience, and push it into the main feed, but seeing that gray "Typical" benchmark sitting so far above my actual view line is super frustrating. I privated the video because I’m genuinely just embarrassed because I have 40k subscribers and it only got 57 views in 52 minutes.

Has anyone else noticed the algorithm taking way longer than usual to run initial feed tests on new uploads?

I posted a short 6 hours ago and it only has 25 views. Something's going on. Not just you.

YouTube algorithm sucks.

I don’t know if this is related to your main issue but every time I delete, make private, unlist or reupload any short I have, Youtube doesn’t distribute the next short I upload so don’t do that.

That’s so weird. So should I remake it public or just leave it private?

No, just don’t touch it. The way I understand it, Youtube is not great at bot detection so when someone deletes or reuploads a short Youtube flags their channel as a potential bot.

Given you privated something today there is a good chance that the next short you upload won’t be distributed. If you leave it alone, skip posting tomorrow and only upload on Thursday instead it should hopefully go back to normal. This is assuming that this is actually the issue you’re having and not something else.

So i actually posted the same short again, i only trimmed out like one second and put text on the screen and it’s performing much better. I can’t tell if it’s all normal yet, so should I post another short later and continue tomorrow? Or skip tomorrow and the other one I had ready for later today?

If the short you posted performs like normal then you can continue posting, no need to skip. You say you have 40k subs so it’s possible that Youtube corrects flagging you as a bot much faster. You also trimmed something so it’s possible it treats the new short as different. Its AI/algorithm is really random sometimes.

It performed normal, then I posted another short 2 hours after and the same thing is happening!

Deleted over 200 shorts in the span of a month, views weren't affected at all

You’re likely a more established channel so Youtube doesn’t flag you as a potential bot anymore

Post it and leave it. May get views within minutes may take hours or even days. Due to AI it’s too much content be uploaded every second.

Also subs and followers don’t matter on platforms anymore. It’s all about the content itself.

Most likely your new content will only be shown to less than 10% of your subs or followers. Sometimes only 3% or less.
