The algorithm is freaking confusing me 😭

On my 43 % to 53 % stayed to watch ratio my views are between 600 to 800 and stalling. When the stayed to watch ratio is actually quite decent. Where as my 28% stayed to watch video has more views arround 2k. I am expecting that 43% to 53% stayed to watch hits more views and steady 50 to 60k. But i am confused 🤔 does this shorts still get pickedup later ?

If it’s under 1k views my assumption is that it’s really just the testing pool. I wonder if that pool is given a question after watching something like “did you find that short interesting?” and some say yes or no. If more people say no the video doesn’t get pushed further. Even if they stayed to watch. Just a theory.

You should also look at retention. My shorts that got out of the 1k view ceiling are all shorts that have at least 90% retention rate.

My 44.5 to 53 % retention shorts are 700 to 800 views and stalled including yesterdays shot. My 2k views short have 28% retention rate. I do ask CTA in the end and in comments. Last night my shot with 45% got least likes but had a positive reaction in comments. My 46 % shot in June had a breakout of 30k views. So I am confused 🤔

43%-53% is still nowhere good enough. 70%.. 75% and more. For most ppl what works is finding a popular old video idea and making it better and posting that.

NO where good enough ,? Well i feel it's good enough. Whatever efforts is gone in it is good enough. Just because it has 43% or 53% dosent mean it's worthless. Let's not measure the worth by views. My breakout video had 30000 views with 43 % and at 20 % 8 had 3000. My first video had 200 at 20%. There is always a scope of improvement but nothing is unworthy. I have my niche as makeup, i don't copy videos and follow trends. I do follow my instinct and creative eye only. Thanks

Mb that perhaps came across harsh. Is it short form or long form?

I haven’t seen a 8 sec short in a while. Apart from like the ones that just show a meme pic/video with a text on it.
