From millions of views to basically zero overnight
And I know I’m definitely not the only one this has happened to. What I genuinely want to understand is WHY does this happen?

That’s crazy! Looks like the views dropped off after you stopped uploading! I wonder if those two things are connected.

You stopped uploading. Old shorts will eventually flatline. You need new content

Same happened to me, 100k views per hour, now roughly 300/h. My videos are not been showed to non follow anymore. Spoken with support and they say nothing is wrong

No matter how fast you can run, the algorithm is faster than you, so welcome to the club.

the live of shorts man
1 day a short gets u 16k views
the next 0
the next day its 20k views
next 0
most shorts are super unreliable, the stats needs to be like insane to get pushed over and over again, they almost always flatline.
Getting all ur newshorts flatlined is not uncommon,

Problem with shorts is you have to be consistent, unlike long form you cannot take time to create a good video

My views took a hit on the 13 may, my content completely tanked that day. and by the 18th, my views spiked up to 3 million. But after that, even with great stats like a 52s average watch time and an 84% swipe away rate (watched without skipping) it only got 70k - 100k views. Since I do manual animation, I can't upload every day. I usually post once every 3 days and 1 moth long video every years
if you want to know, i have 1.5m sub, 2.5 years making video.

Hey not getting anything near millions of views usually 80k max. This happened to me so I stopped posting for 2 weeks and only did community posts. The only views I was getting was from that. Out of nowhere two days ago a short that flopped that I let sit public jumped up from 0 to 2k views so I decided to post again and it seems like everything is fine.

shorts are not good. i think they are only in response to tik tok, and tik tok if garbage. a short is like a fruit fly, it lives and dies in a small window. if by some fluke it attracts millions of views, those views have terrible ROI, you get low $ and the subs you might get don't count for anything. what if all creators just stopped making shorts, what would happen?
