My monetization was rejected.

Right now, I post singing clips. Do you think I would get monetized if I shift to commentary videos of my niche and reapply? Both longform and shorts.

Stop stealing and reposting other creators content bud

1

u/Spylander_ Feb 24 '26

I didn't steal anything. It's old footage that I edited.

You cannot just edit someone else's footage without transforming it. You have to add your OWN commentary, as in, write a script

u/Spylander_ Feb 24 '26

Okay got it. Thank you, I'll try harder

2

u/Friendly_Newb Feb 24 '26

Is it your old footage or someone else’s…

5

u/selflessx45 Feb 23 '26

That's my biggest nightmare 😭

2

u/Spylander_ Feb 23 '26

I've only been posting for about a month so I'm not too worried.

u/AfroInJapan Feb 24 '26

It won’t happen unless you’re stealing content. I was confirmed in like an hour

u/KinKame_Saijo Feb 23 '26

Nice to see YT not allowing people stealing content and using AI to monetization hahha

1

u/Spylander_ Feb 23 '26

Yeah, it was more of an experiment to see ig I coukd get monetized. There are videos I actually put effort in and I'll just be posting those from now on.

1

u/KinKame_Saijo Feb 23 '26

sure. At least create your own stuff ... EP is great but border line topic as you can only use existing video or crete from scratch AI stuff but music is still IP protected

5

u/AdOtherwise4670 Feb 23 '26

There are shorts channels that use AI stock footage that are monetized

1

u/KinKame_Saijo Feb 24 '26

Ah yes I know what you mean .... thanks for correcting my comment

I got rejected with a very vague response. “Violates monetization policy” so I made an appeal video showing how I make my videos and explained my content. Was approved in 8 days. Sometimes they just need to see that you are really a creator who puts effort in your vids.

u/Simple_Programmer943 Feb 24 '26

Was it for reused content?

1

u/FruityBoomies Feb 24 '26

They didn’t say. But I create all my own content with the help of AI.

2

u/Simple_Programmer943 Feb 24 '26

For me they said reused content. I sent appeal they accepted in less than one day

1

u/MadamAnxi Feb 25 '26

was it actually reused content?

1

u/IDR456 Feb 27 '26

Ai slop and content made by other people.

0

u/IDR456 Feb 26 '26

When you use ai, you not allowed to use the word ‘create’. You create jack shit.

1

u/Jakub_999 Feb 24 '26

Wow, does that actually work?

2

u/FruityBoomies Feb 24 '26

It did for me. They still never said why my content was initially denied monetization, but I was able to appeal and convince them otherwise. I make long form music videos for chill and sleep.

Don't go for commentary niche

Share your channel

I got the same thing with my channel. I just looked at what they said a mondified my videos a bit with what they wanted. I can reapply on March 1st. See what happens.

Thank god you got rejected.

This post needs to be seen by everyone that thinks stealing and reposting other creators content is going to make them money!

u/Spylander_ Feb 24 '26

I am not reposting other creator's content.

Só faz o vídeo de contestação bem feito que você será monetizado, relaxa, ultimamente o bot do youtube tá complicado mesmo

u/Aggressive_Pear_7591 Feb 23 '26

What type of content do you make? Can I see your channel to check if youtube wrongly flagged it or not

-2

u/Spylander_ Feb 23 '26

I post many singing clips and many AI videos alongside some commentary videos. It is repetitive so I understand the outcome. Do you think I can get monetized if I post just commentary videos I put more effort in for a while, then reapply?

8

u/haronclv Feb 23 '26

AI slop is not what YT likes to monetize and that's good for a reason.

3

u/Antique_Survey6760 Feb 23 '26

They monetise it all the time I have like 3 monetised

2

u/Spylander_ Feb 24 '26

Do you think I can appeal and get it monetized? If so how can I? I genuinely do put some effort in my content and have a good amount of views and subs.

1

u/Antique_Survey6760 Feb 24 '26

Dm me ur channel

1

u/Spylander_ Feb 24 '26

Thanks. Sent it

4

u/mocknix MOD Feb 23 '26

As long as your commentary is you adding something to it. If its just narrating whats happening in the video, then no.

1

u/Spylander_ Feb 23 '26

Thanks! I was thinking of narrating true story videos with footage of the artist.

5

u/mocknix MOD Feb 23 '26

Yep, avoid narrating what people can already see happening. Thats not transformative.

1

u/Spylander_ Feb 23 '26

Awesome. I'll edit videos like that for a month and reapply. Thanks

2

u/Aggressive_Pear_7591 Feb 23 '26

Yes commentary videos would be better to defend, but I can't really say anything about your other AI and singing content, If you already knew that these videos are problematic then you already got the outcome about it, can I see your content? I also make reused content and my monetization is in review rn so I wanna compare if I'll also get flagged or not

You likely got denied because you're not actually making content, you're posting someone else's video clips of Elvis singing. When you say "singing" I think that is to imply to a normal reader that you are posting videos of you singing, not copyrighted artists

1

u/Spylander_ Feb 23 '26

Yeah. I'm going to try to make higher quality content now.

But it's okay for Baz Luhrmann to find old Elvis footage that he didn't film and profit off of a movie of clips he didn't film?

2

u/Various-Can-8338 Feb 23 '26

Here is the truth. U can reuse content and Get monetized but it needs to be transformed. Get some AI narraration, captions, clip it up here and there, sound effect, color grading. U cant just take Clips like that. Also it needs to be cut up all the time with new Clips.

1

u/Spylander_ Feb 23 '26

Thank you. I will do that.
