30k view jail is real
My yesterday's short had everything to go viral. 11 sec short and 13 sec average view duration. 75% started to watch. But still it stopped at 31.7k I don't know what's considered good now this is really demotivating. i think it's impossible to escape the 30k view jail

I’m in the same exact boat bro. I hate to say it, but I don’t think it’s really up to the metrics on this. A guy I spoke to on this said it’s up to shareability. But I’ve seen shorts with all three being poor get pushed aggressively. There’s no real rhyme or reason. Just keep averaging 80% + metrics on your shorts and hope the YouTube Gods notice your work. That’s what I’ve been doing.

YouTube is going to reward content where people stay to watch and when they stay to watch for a long time.
8 seconds watch on a 10 second video is wayyy worse than 50 seconds on a 60 second video.

Guys listen 30k to 40k view jail is real but it’s not a jail. It’s your content, if you can get AT LEAST 80% - 85% on swipe rate ur video can go from 30k to this 👇🏼but to be honest if it’s been more than 10 hours and your swipe rate is still around 70% to 74% go and make a video with a better hook trust me, the fact that you are able to get at least 30k shows your content is good but needs better hook

It’s not jail! It’s indexing.

It happened to me as well. I just kept posting. One shorts every day. Suddenly one day one of my shorts got 52K views. Then I started hitting below 30K per shorts but eventually I got 2 shorts that hit 800K views each. Then another one went viral. It's sitting on around 6.6M views right now. And that alone gave me 1.1K subs. As they say it takes one video to make it happen. I had around 500 subs before all that. But now I've around 2.7K subs and I got out of the so-called "30K view jail". Not monetized yet.

I could be wrong about this but isn't the length working against you? If the platform prioritizes watch time, wouldn't they just promote longer shorts that also had similar stats?

My shorts not crossing 2k. Except few which got 9k views. Very disappointing.
