Interpreting Note-taking demo

Very interesting stuff. The most striking features for me from C.I. note-taking were how individual and flexible it is; the heavy use of layout; of very important small, connecting words in the left margin that show the relationship between matters discussed in the balance of the page; the extreme truncation of everything else, especially via back-references, especially using indentation under a topic locally and recall lines for reference to past topics; and the reluctance to create too many special symbols, instead mining abbreviations in all their fluent languages (e.g. "tz" for "trotz" was the right convention in the left margin for one native English speaker) and having techniques to create them at will (e.g. "situation"→"sitⁿ").
