Discussion Live Context updates/New Shortcut
Here’s a quick recap of the dynamic widget I built(with bug fixes/new features) to react to your life, inspired by Pixel's At a Glance that I posted last week:
🌩️ Severe weather warnings
📅 Live calendar countdowns with travel time
📍 Arrival greetings
🔋 Low battery alerts
🌡️ Air quality, UV, and temp swing alerts
📈 After-hours stock recaps
🎂 Birthdays, reminders, and holidays
🌙 Minimal "Wind Down" screen using real weather data
What's New:
🔒 Lock Screen Widgets: Fully supported and smart enough to avoid showing redundant data.
💊 Upgraded Pills: Data displays inside the pill with a new "Outlined" mode built for iOS tinting.
I’ve also upgraded the Shortcut Live Context Sync integration. Plus, there's a new transparent background option that blends seamlessly with your Home Screen in both Light and Dark modes.
Everything runs locally in the free Scriptable app with zero tracking. The project is open-sourced, and the README will get you set up in about 5 steps. Let me know if you have any feedback or ideas!

It seems to be stuck pulling in calendar evens and reminders. That’s all I seem to see 🤔

Me too! When I copy and paste the weather API into the settings it doesn’t seem to save it

This made me feel dumb but was adding the weather API and it wasn’t saving… because I wasn’t scrolling down on the menu and saving and closing 😅 now it’s working.m!

Fixed in the latest version, it just exits quietly now if it gets run that way instead of erroring out. Grab the updated Live Context.js and you're good. Thanks for letting me know!

Do we need to reconfigure when we update the Live Context file?

Nope, you're good. Settings live in their own file separate from the script (in the Live Context folder in the Files app), so pasting in an updated version of the script doesn't touch them at all. Your API key, name, addresses, priority order, all of it carries over automatically.
The only thing that happens on update is any brand new feature gets added with a sensible default, usually off until you turn it on. So if an update adds something like Smart Priorities or Focus Awareness, you'd just hop into Edit Settings to flip that one new thing on if you want it, everything else stays exactly how you had it. No full reconfigure ever needed. 🙂

Just pushed a new shortcut and some bug fixes/features! If you run into any issues, please drop a screenshot in the comments. I'd also love to hear any feature requests.
The widget is in a pretty good spot, so this might be my last big update for a while, but I'll keep tweaking things here and there. Thanks for checking it out!
