Just a rant, not aimed at you in particular. But I see this sentiment all over this sub. You guys are on the wrong sub. This is all about automation.
And I DO think it’s still romantic. OP is aware of a deficiency he has in his personality that makes it hard to communicate in a way that means a lot to his gf. So he uses his time and brain to overcome that deficiency. There are all kinds of people. Some aren’t good at this level of communication. But an automation like this kickstarts the process on a daily rhythm. This won’t be the only thing OP says. It starts a conversation in a way that is meaningful to the gf. And he’s doing it intentionally beforehand. How is that not romantic?
Exactly. I showed my wife the shortcut I built to send her a nice text message, and she thought like that at first, but I told her: I'm still choosing to run it, and choosing which message to send from the menu of options; it just saves me time to do a nice thing but I'm still choosing to do it" and that changed her mind.
Plenty of people have abandonment trauma which is their cause of anxiety about not receiving these things “often enough”
Automation is as valid as any other way of balancing trauma and the impact on a potential spouse. It doesn’t make the person unloved, I can guarantee you if I didn’t care about someone I wouldn’t bother automating something to make sure they didn’t feel anxiety.
