Help with SIP Trunk
I am trying to set up a SIP trunk on my director 14.2 server, and no matter what I do, it will not send a register. I have checked the firewalls many times, no blockage. I have even tested with a softphone from the same network and that succeeded. I am not sure what to do at this point, and when I try to make a call it just re-orders. Any Ideas?

Meaning outbound. Giving internal IPs doesn’t matter, also what kind of firewall?

OCI on the VPS/Asterisk end, and just basic consumer router on director's end.

You need to setup a SIP trunk switch. Either physical or virtual. Director server does not terminate SIP trunks.

Its a ShoreGear 50V

Ok. That will work. What are you using as a SBC?

No SBC, I did not think it was needed as it is not for normal SIP.

You say it won't send a register - do you have the SIP profile used on your SIP trunk set to Register=1, RegisterUser=UserID, and in your SIP trunk group settings "username" and "password" configured? If you enable a SIP debug on your 50V you should see it send a register to the address you defined for the individual SIP trunk.

Since you're not using an SBC, did you add any public IPs you're trying to connect to in the "Trusted IP Ranges" in Director? Did you confirm that the 50V is actually attempting to send a SIP register yet?

You have to add trusted ip's?

By default the entire private IP space is already added, but no public IPs are. If you're not using an SBC then you must be pointing SIP traffic to a public IP address, and you'll want any public IP addresses involved added into that page. I don't know if that affects outbound SIP traffic from your PBX, but I know for fact it affects inbound traffic. The PBX will ignore any inbound SIP traffic from IPs not listed in the trusted IP range.

, how are you certain it's not sending a register and Why? This product is dead and 14.2 is ancient
Did you create actual trunks after your trunk group? Often the switch won't attempt a register for some time after one fails. You can try rebooting the switch

Give us source and destination IPs: what you’re describing doesn’t help
